I recently completed the MSF 2-Day Course at Great South Harley-Davidson and it was, without a doubt, the best training experience I’ve ever had. The coaches, Rich and Claude, were absolutely phenomenal. They were genuinely invested in each student’s success—relaxed and easy to talk to, but also confident and direct when we needed correction. They struck that perfect balance of encouragement and accountability. You could tell they weren’t just there to get us through the course—they truly wanted every student to have a fair and honest shot at graduating and becoming a safe rider. The structure of the training itself was very well thought out. We started with the basics—identifying all the bike controls and just walking the bike while seated—and gradually worked our way into more advanced and challenging exercises. By the second day we were performing controlled curves, smooth gear shifting, swerving, U-turns, and quick stops. The progression made sense, and by the time we reached the more intense drills I felt noticeably more confident. That said, as a completely new rider, the course was not easy for me. I dropped the bike several times and needed to take a moment here and there to reset and calm my nerves. But this is where Rich and Claude really shined: they never made me feel embarrassed or discouraged. Instead, they guided me through what went wrong, reinforced what I was doing right, and helped me try again with a fresh mindset. Their constant encouragement, paired with honest feedback, created a sense of urgency to improve—but in a positive way that made me want to push myself. The environment and facility were just as impressive. The Harley-Davidson showroom is spotless and beautifully arranged. Every bike looks showroom-ready, and we even received a tour of the facility from Dustin, who was very welcoming and informative. On top of that, lunch was provided on the first day—burgers and hot dogs that hit the spot during a full day of riding. Overall, I had a significant amount of fun while learning more than I ever expected in just two days. I left the course not only more skilled, but genuinely confident in my ability to ride safely. I cannot recommend this course enough—especially with coaches like Rich and Claude leading it. If you’re considering learning to ride or you’re looking to sharpen your skills, this is absolutely worth your time.
