The best two-up snowmobile is the one built for where you ride with a passenger. For groomed trails, start with the 2027 Ski-Doo Grand Touring or Arctic Cat Pantera. For deep snow and hauling, look at the Polaris Voyageur Adventure, Polaris TITAN Adventure or Ski-Doo Expedition. On a budget, compare the Pantera 400, Expedition Sport and Grand Touring Sport.

Starting prices are each maker's 2027 US MSRP and exclude freight or destination, dealer setup or preparation, taxes and registration. Arctic Cat lists $800 freight and a $500 dealer setup fee on each Pantera page. Ask every dealer for an out-the-door price before you compare. Browse snowmobiles for sale on Searchshop.

How these two-up sleds were chosen

The picks come from published manufacturer data, not test rides. Every model here is a 2027 sled that its maker sells with seating for two, read from the Ski-Doo, Polaris and Arctic Cat US websites on 14 October 2026. Each one was compared on what a shopper can check before visiting a dealer: engine options, passenger equipment, track and suspension, and starting price.

Horsepower figures are Ski-Doo's own ratings. Polaris does not list horsepower on these model pages, and Arctic Cat gives only a class figure for one model, so this guide does not compare power across brands. Prices are quoted on the same basis for every model: the starting MSRP shown on the maker's site, before freight and fees.

Best for groomed trails: Ski-Doo Grand Touring

The 2027 Ski-Doo Grand Touring is a trail sled built around a passenger, with standard two-up seating on every package. All three packages use a 137 x 15 x 1.25-inch track and a 9.5-gallon fuel tank, and Ski-Doo lists heated throttle-lever grips for both driver and passenger as standard.

  • Grand Touring Sport, from $11,649: a 600 ACE (62 hp) or 900 ACE (95 hp) four-stroke engine, a 4.5-inch digital display and 9.6 inches of rear suspension travel.
  • Grand Touring LE, from $15,449: a 900 ACE (95 hp), 900 ACE Turbo (130 hp) or 900 ACE Turbo R (180 hp), a premium heated two-up seat with passenger handholds, rMotion X rear suspension with Air Control Suspension and 10.9 inches of rear travel.
  • Grand Touring LE with Platinum Package, from $17,699: the same engine choices and heated seat, plus a 10.25-inch touchscreen with built-in GPS and Group Ride, adjustable Pilot TX skis and premium LED headlights.

The Sport suits riders who want a passenger seat at the lowest Grand Touring price. The LE is the step up if your passenger wants a heated seat and handholds.

Best for long touring days: Arctic Cat Pantera 7000 and 9000

The Arctic Cat Pantera 7000 and 9000 are touring sleds that both come with heated two-up seats as standard. Both run a Ripsaw track that is 146 inches long with 1.25-inch lugs, ARS II front suspension and Slide-Action rear suspension with fiberglass overload springs.

The Pantera 7000 uses a 1049cc four-stroke engine and a standard 10.7-gallon fuel tank, from $20,099. The Pantera 9000 uses a 998cc turbocharged C-TEC4 engine, the same engine as Arctic Cat's ZR Thundercat, from $23,599. The 9000 adds Electronic Power Steering and a G8 display powered by Garmin, with built-in GPS and preloaded trail maps.

The 7000 suits couples who want a heated passenger seat and a large fuel tank for long days. The 9000 is for riders who want turbo power and power steering on a two-up sled.

Best for deep snow and hauling: Polaris Voyageur Adventure and TITAN Adventure

The Polaris Voyageur Adventure and TITAN Adventure seat two and are built for deep snow as well as trails. Both are offered with a ProStar S4 four-stroke or a 650 Patriot engine, and Polaris lists a two-up seat as included on each.

Polaris Voyageur Adventure

The Voyageur Adventure starts at $15,999. It uses BackTrak15 rear suspension, which Polaris says is built for deep snow in forward or reverse. Polaris calls it a sport utility sled. Polaris Smart Warmers include heated passenger grips, and every Voyageur has storage behind the display.

Polaris TITAN Adventure

The TITAN Adventure starts at $16,499. It has a 20-inch-wide track, BackTrak20 rear suspension and a Hi/Lo transmission, with low range for heavy loads and deep snow. A passenger seat is standard, along with an integrated rack rated for up to 125 pounds of gear and a 30-gallon cargo box.

The Voyageur suits riders who split time between trails and soft snow. The TITAN suits riders who also need to haul firewood, gear or supplies.

Best crossover for two: Ski-Doo Expedition

The 2027 Ski-Doo Expedition is a sport-utility crossover sold with two-up seating on its Sport, LE and SE packages. Every Expedition uses a 154-inch track and uMotion rear suspension with 10.5 inches of travel.

  • Expedition Sport, from $10,849: a 600 EFI (85 hp), 600 ACE (62 hp) or 900 ACE (95 hp) engine, a 16-inch-wide track, a standard tow hitch and a trail-width two-up seat. Heated grips are standard for the driver only.
  • Expedition LE: wider 20- and 24-inch track options with a wide-track two-up seat, a 16-inch option with a trail-width two-up seat, and heated grips for driver and passenger.
  • Expedition SE: a removable passenger seat with heated grips, Air Control Suspension and a 135-liter LinQ cargo box.

The Expedition suits riders who want one sled for trail miles, off-trail exploring and chores, with room for a passenger. The single-seat Expedition Xtreme is not a two-up model.

Best two-up snowmobiles on a budget

The lowest starting prices in this guide belong to the Pantera 400, Expedition Sport and Grand Touring Sport, all within $1,150 of each other. Each one takes a different approach to carrying a passenger.

  • Arctic Cat Pantera 400, $10,499: a mid-size two-up sled with a 397cc single-cylinder EFI two-stroke, 12.5 inches of rear travel and dual overload springs that Arctic Cat says add carrying capacity for a second rider.
  • Ski-Doo Expedition Sport, $10,849: the crossover choice, with a 154-inch track and a tow hitch for light work.
  • Ski-Doo Grand Touring Sport, $11,649: the trail choice, with four-stroke engines and heated grips for both riders.

A used sled can cost less again. Searchshop's used snowmobile buying guide explains what to inspect before you make an offer.

What to check on any two-up sled

Check the passenger's comfort and the sled's carrying setup before you compare engines. A two-up sled that suits the driver but leaves the passenger cold will not get ridden together for long.

  • Passenger heat: confirm whether the seat is heated and whether the passenger has heated grips. The 2027 Grand Touring Sport and Expedition Sport differ here, for example.
  • Handholds and backrest: ask the dealer to show the passenger handholds and how the seat is fitted, removable or fixed.
  • Track and suspension: match the track width and length to the snow you ride, and look for rear suspension set up for extra weight, such as overload springs or adjustable air suspension.
  • Fuel range: compare tank sizes on the spec sheet if you plan long days with two people.
  • Out-the-door price: add freight, setup, accessories, taxes and registration to the MSRP.

Which two-up snowmobile should you buy?

Choose by where you will ride together most of the time, then by your budget.

  • Mostly groomed trails: Ski-Doo Grand Touring LE, or the Grand Touring Sport to spend less.
  • Long days with a heated passenger seat: Arctic Cat Pantera 7000, or the Pantera 9000 for turbo power and power steering.
  • Deep snow, trails and chores: Polaris Voyageur Adventure or Ski-Doo Expedition.
  • Heavy hauling with a passenger: Polaris TITAN Adventure.
  • Lowest new price: Arctic Cat Pantera 400 or Ski-Doo Expedition Sport.
