UPDATED SEPTEMBER 22, 2025: Unfortunately, I have to add this to my original review of Pete's RV. If you choose to do business with these folks, Please be sure EVERYTHING is perfect when you leave the dealership. Get a professional inspector. I'm now close to 90 days after taking delivery and cannot get a response from the dealership on an issue that's existed from week one with a feature the dealer installed. Brinkley Customer Service has been amazing. Once the dealership has your money, they seem to get bored with you and want to move on. It will be 4 weeks ago this week that their mobile tech was at my house and acknowledged something is wrong with one of three slide toppers they installed. 4 weeks of me calling and emailing management with no responses. Beware! ********** ORIGINAL REVIEW FROM JUNE 2025: Great experiences with this dealership. On the first visit this Spring, the vibe was very comfortable, as an RV shopper who was not sure if I was ready to buy or not. There was NO pressure from the sales team. No one followed us around but everyone was helpful and offered that if we needed anything, just yell. We met a sales guy named Ross, and, over the next several weeks, stayed in touch by Text and Email asking questions about a specific model of motor home. He answered thoroughly and promptly. He checked inventory at their other locations. We ended up changing directions on what we wanted. Ross had exactly the BRINKLEY model we wanted in stock and it had the options we would have chosen on a custom order. We were satisfied with where the price and trade in came together. We wanted some options added, they took care of adding a washer/ dryer and slide toppers. We hired an independent inspector to check the unit. As expected in today's world, there were a handful items that needed attention. Karen, Jeff and Jason from the dealership worked well with the inspector. They coordinated with the service team to have all items addressed even over the 4th of July holiday weekend. We took delivery of our Brinkley Z AIR 310 July 7th exactly as planned. We discovered on the 10th that the slide toppers had a little too much slack in them. Karen made arrangements for a mobile tech who was going to be in our area to come by the house to tighten them up. We did not even ask for that but she made it happen. I truly hope this level of service continues from Pete's RV. It's a HUGE breath of fresh air compared to the corporate place we purchased our 2022 camper from. Thanks to all at Pete's RV- Chesapeake, VA
Alexis was amazing in tracking down the RV that I was looking for! Everyone there made the whole process super easy and fully transparent. I can't recommend them enough! EDIT: Too bad the "super easy and fully transparent" actually resulted in them pulling TWO bait and switches on me on this deal that I only realized after the fact. 1. A week after bringing home the RV they called me stating that I shorted the down payment by $1K. Turns out the offer sheet that we agreed on was shredded, so I had no proof that the number was what I handed them a check for. Of course upon re-inspecting my contract, their number was the one that was on there. I blindly trusted them. 🤦🏻♂️ The finance manager even told me while looking at his computer "There is a note in here mentioning X down, but that's not what the purchase order has." To me it wasn't about the money, it was the principle of it. There was no "How do we make this right?", just a hand being held out for more money. 2. They provided me with the best insurance quote from a broker. It was with a nationally known company and at a very good price. I paid my premium in full for the year on sight. 3 weeks later I got a letter from said insurance agency stating I needed to provide proof of the purchase price because the stated price was $130K under retail. I sent them a copy of the purchase agreement (which was much closer to retail than the quoted value) and in turn my insurance doubled immediately. The dealerships response to this: "I'm not sure how that happened." I'm usually very meticulous in my dealings but I didn't pay attention because I was excited to finally be buying my dream RV....and Pete's RV in Chesapeake took advantage of that. I still can't thank Alexis enough in doing the legwork to find me my unit, but the general manager and finance manager have ruined this experience. If you are thinking of buying from them, see Alexis but check and double check their numbers before doing business. Caveat Emptor. Update: While I do appreciate their review reply, contrary to what they wrote, there was never a "We reviewed it together" phase in the contract. Jason the manager handed me off to Jim in finance. At no point did the 3 of us together (or separately) discuss ANY down payment change or benefits of doing so. If we had, this would have never been a thing in the first place! I would have gladly paid the larger down payment. But you can't just invent an explanation that never happened in order to save face. As for the insurance rate discrepancy, the ONLY place that could have came from was Pete's RV. I have emails from the broker apologizing for everything yet clearly stating that the insurance rate was quoted based on the value they received from Pete's RV. How do you get that number wrong by over $100K when you're the one sitting there writing up the purchase order?? It comes across as "Hey! Look at how low of a rate WE got you!" I'm not a guy that leaves bad reviews just for the thrill of it. I genuinely try to NOT leave bad reviews because most business errors are genuine mistakes. But in this case, in no way do I feel these were honest mistakes by Pete's.
I want to start by saying Alexis was amazing and is about the only good thing at this place. If you want good service and to be taken care of while purchasing an RV stay far away from here. After the sale you're completely abandoned and nothing that is promised to you prior, is executed. My husband and I bought an RV to full-time in. No repairs were made that needed to be, no help installing the hitch, and 18 year old propane tanks that can't be refilled were left with us - to which all were promised to be taken care of prior to pickup. Inspection was a joke and quite embarrassing for this company. Along with the responses they leave to other reviews practically arguing with customers. Not a good look. Had pickup day scheduled for at least 2 months and all staff was away during this time. The staff that was here, were deer caught in headlights and could hardly help. I had high hopes for this place especially since I saw many positive reviews when we first started looking 6 months ago. The place is ran horribly. I would give 0 stars if I could.
So we left them 2 voicemails about servicing our TT that was purchased from Dodd (which is now closed down) but they never called us back. Didn’t need the business evidently but we found someone else luckily. Getting ready to trade in TT for a drivable but after looking at these reviews, we’re going elsewhere. Never heard so many excuses from a dealership. Unreal. Steer clear!
I had a terrible experience with a different dealership. I went to Pete's and they took it as personally as I did. The salesman Gary bent over backwards to help me. The manager Jason was understanding and helped us get a deal that beat what the other scummy dealership had. Top tier customer service and most of all they were human. Every dealership you walk in to anymore feels predatory. Pete's had a genuine connection. They were not pushy at all and I felt like they truly cared about making a bad situation right.

Set your budget first
RV prices range from under $10,000 for used travel trailers to $300,000+ for Class A diesel pushers. Know your number before you browse. Use SearchShop's payment estimator on any RV Trader Demo Dealer listing to model monthly costs.
Pick the right RV type
Travel trailers and fifth wheels need a capable tow vehicle. Class B and C motorhomes offer an easier entry point. Class A motorhomes give the most space. Ask the team at RV Trader Demo Dealer which type fits your camping style.
Inspect these on every unit
Check the roof for cracks or soft spots (signs of water damage). Open every slideout and look for seal wear. Run all appliances. Test the generator, AC, and water heater. Check the underbelly for rust or damage.
Know the weight ratings
Every RV has a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). Overloading causes tire blowouts and frame damage. Compare the GVWR against your intended load before committing.
Review service records
Ask RV Trader Demo Dealer for any available service history. Regular maintenance records — oil changes, roof resealing, slide service — signal a well-cared-for unit.
