Buying an RV is a big decision. Use this guide to shop Modern Coachworks's inventory with confidence.
Set your budget first
RV prices range from under $10,000 for used travel trailers to $300,000+ for Class A diesel pushers. Know your number before you browse. Use SearchShop's payment estimator on any Modern Coachworks listing to model monthly costs.
Pick the right RV type
Travel trailers and fifth wheels need a capable tow vehicle. Class B and C motorhomes offer an easier entry point. Class A motorhomes give the most space. Ask the team at Modern Coachworks which type fits your camping style.
Inspect these on every unit
Check the roof for cracks or soft spots (signs of water damage). Open every slideout and look for seal wear. Run all appliances. Test the generator, AC, and water heater. Check the underbelly for rust or damage.
Know the weight ratings
Every RV has a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). Overloading causes tire blowouts and frame damage. Compare the GVWR against your intended load before committing.
Review service records
Ask Modern Coachworks for any available service history. Regular maintenance records — oil changes, roof resealing, slide service — signal a well-cared-for unit.
RV loans are specialized. Knowing the basics helps you get the best deal when financing through Modern Coachworks in Mesa, Arizona.
Typical Loan Terms
10 to 20 years is typical for larger RVs. Shorter-term loans save on total interest.
Down Payment
10% to 20% is typical. A larger down payment reduces monthly costs and total interest paid.
Pro Tip
Get pre-approved by your bank before visiting Modern Coachworks — it gives you a rate to compare against dealer financing.
Banks, credit unions, and specialized RV lenders all offer RV financing. Rates vary widely. Get a pre-approval from your bank or credit union before visiting Modern Coachworks — it gives you a baseline rate to compare against dealer-arranged financing.

We just purchased a 35' Sonoma by Forest River and I can not say enough about the outstanding service we received. Greg in sales was patient, did not bat a eye about any and all questions or concerns we had. He had the answers. Dan in finance we kind and full of all kinds of wonderful information, not your normal finance type of person. And Mark in service, not enough can be said about this man. He spent so much time with us going over all the in's and out's of the travel trailer. He helped us in hooking up the trailer to our truck, light checks and all. I can not thank them enough for making this the most comfortable big purchase we made.
