Leland "Bish" Jenkins built his family business based on the principles of honesty, fair dealing, and treating customers right. Beginning in Eastern Idaho in the 1940's with the sale of livestock, Bish Jenkins and his sons and grandsons expanded the family businesses into clothing, saddles, tack and horse trailers. In 1989, one of Bish's grandsons wanted to purchase an RV from a local dealer. When he didn't like the offer the dealer gave him, he called up the manufacturer and tried to buy one. But to buy from the manufacturer, you had to be a dealer, so he bought six of them and Bish's RV was...

If you are ever in the Idaho Falls area and need service done for your RV, I highly recommend Bish’s RV. I was experiencing some sagging on the front of my 35’ 5th wheel around the hitch. In the past, my experiences with RV dealers doing service was very unsatisfactory (they didn’t actually fix the issue and took a long time to get to the repairs) so I usually call a mobile tech. In this case, I figured I might need to go to a dealer because I was worried there may be a frame issue. Well, my experience was like night and day compared to my prior dealer service episodes. My first contact was on a Monday. I talked to a service coordinator and he arranged a Zoom call so he could potentially diagnose the issue in advance of going to the service center. Given the issue, he could not tell exactly what was going on with my rig so I needed to get into the dealer. He worked some magic and Bish’s cleared some time to get me in on Wednesday morning. By Wednesday afternoon they had opened up the front of the rig and discovered that a steel beam across the front had broken in two and the welds holding the hitch on had almost broken through. Nothing on the outside of the rig suggested that the damage was that major. By Wednesday evening I had approved the repair plan and they were working to get it fixed. By Saturday they had cut out the broken section, welded a new piece in, reinforced that with a second beam across the entire front, added extra corner supports and rewelded the hitch. It was closed back up and sealed by Saturday afternoon. They also fixed a small place in the fiberglass that had been ripped. I showed the photos to a couple of friends who do this kind of work and they were impressed by how good the welds look. Throughout this time they were great about communicating with me and took the time to show me exactly what they were doing. I can’t say enough good things about Tyson, the tech who actually did the work and the service manage, Cody. I would even think about driving out of my way to service my RV there as I feel like it is better now than when it was first manufactured.
I had to revise my review. The staff did have a friendly atmosphere but things went sour for me and I most likely will not return for my next purchase. It's important to keep a customer happy no matter what and this just wasn't done. Basically as soon as you pull the trailer off the lot you are on your own. Going back in time, I had been watching YouTube videos on Bishes Rv's for the last 6 months. Josh seemed like an honest guy. So I chose Bishes for my first ever RV purchase. But the closest one was either Utah or Idaho. I had Camping world across from where I was living at the time and another place within California. Choosing a trailer was difficult and took months off research. The Forest River r-pod 194 seemed like the best one for me. There was one heading to Idaho and I stated my interest. It was listed at 23 thousand which was right in my budget. However I was told I would have to pay an additional $4,000 for fee. But according to their ads there are no hidden fees no Freight fees and so on. I mean how did all the other RVs get on their lot but this one even though it was listed for 23k came with a freight fee and I do not understand this. However I loved the layout of this RV and had to move forward with it. I had to drive all the way up to Idaho to pick it up and drive it back down to California all in all, the trip alone was an extra $2000. Trying to finance the trailer was a mess... So i had to go out of my way for 100% cash even though I was going to put down $25k. I could not get it financed. Im new to hitching and pulling trailers and my anxiety was high but i was confident. I had a weight distribution and anti sway combo but did not have the right tools to install it. I would be charged $199 for this if done at Bishes. For the first time hitching I would have preferred it done professionally and I could observe and learn up front. But it was another expense. Once it was all installed I guess I was ready to hit the road and head back to california. On the second and third day doing a vehicle inspection. I'm not sure how I missed this but the tech that installed the hitch gear forgot to place in the safety pins into the tension bars as well as the ball hitch itself. This was also an oversight on my part but I am still learning as I go along. But not having those safety pins could have been a mess if something had gone wrong. When I got back to California and hooked up into an RV park. The tankless water heater was not working. The faucet in the bathroom was leaking. And the internal vacuum system that this trailer has was also not working. I discovered that the control panel tankless water heater what's broken known to break easy. I had called an RV Tech before calling Bishes Rvfix program and the Rv tech said he just got done replacing the same brand control panel. When I called RV fix we went through the steps to diagnose it. But the control board was the issue. They were going to arrange a mobile tech to service. They will cover the parts and labor but I would have to pay $500 for the call. There was no way I could pay any more money into something I already paid for that should have been working. I said just send me the part I will install it myself. But Suburban the tankless water heater brand will not ship the parts to individual people. So it looks like I have a $30k trailer with no water heater. I will research how to fix my own electrical items I will find another way to turn on this tankless water heater without the control panel if need be or I will learn to fix the controller myself. A person should not have to go through this much trouble after paying so much money for an RV trailer that should not have been broken in the first place. One side note to mention is in the video that was shown on YouTube about this trailer, in the bathroom where a small shelf was shown, there was mesh netting to keep your items stationary... That was also missing and I had to purchase separately from Amazon. My satisfaction with this ordeal became less and less with each passing day.
Giving a shout out and 2x5 Stars to Cody Later in Bish’s service department. The insurance company tried to force a different RV business to address my motorhome claim. However, I insisted on using Bish’s RV in Idaho Falls and they did not disappoint. In fact, they went above and beyond my service expectations due to the exceptional care and service I received from Cody. I’ll definitely return as a customer for futures needs. Sending a second shoutout to Tom Warner - who filled in for Cody a few days while he vacationed. Tom put a final touch on details to ensure I was a satisfied customer. Thanks again, Cody and Tom! 😊
Bish’s RV just finished installing solar panels, lithium batteries where there was no room, converter, and controller in my class C motorhome. Tom, Mike, and Tyson all did such an exceptional job! I am tickled to death to have my RV in such good shape! So much better than even when it was new! Thank you so much Bish’s RV parts and Service team! You rock!
Had a great experience purchasing a truck camper from Bish's RV. The process was smooth and explained in detail. I never felt pressured and exceeded my expectations which I was very happy about as I traveled 1800 miles to get the exact model I wanted. They matched another dealers offer but Bish's had better option with more solar. Try them out, you will be happy you did!
