- **Understand Micron Rating:** The Camco TastePURE is typically a 5-micron filter. While good for taste and odor, consider a pre-filter with a larger micron rating (e.g., 20 micron) to extend the life of your main filter, especially with well water.
- **Check Flow Rate:** Ensure the filter's flow rate (GPM - gallons per minute) meets your needs so it doesn't significantly reduce water pressure, especially for showering or filling tanks.
- **Flush Before Use:** Always flush a new water filter for 2-5 minutes before connecting it to your RV or boat's internal plumbing to remove any loose carbon particles.
- **Consider a Dual Filter System:** For enhanced water quality, especially if you travel to areas with varying water sources, consider a two-stage system (e.g., sediment pre-filter followed by a carbon filter like the TastePURE).
