Buying a motorcycle from Salento Scooters in Hollywood, Florida? Follow this checklist before you commit.
Verify the title and VIN
Check the VIN on the frame, engine, and title to confirm they match. Run the VIN through a motorcycle history report. Salento Scooters should be able to provide documentation for any bike in their inventory.
Check the fork seals and bearings
Look for oil weeping down the fork tubes — a sign the seals need replacement. Grab the front wheel and push/pull firmly to check for play in the steering head bearings.
Inspect the chain and sprockets
A worn chain will have excess slack and the sprocket teeth will look hooked or pointed instead of rounded. Chain and sprocket replacement runs $200–$500. Factor that into your offer if it's needed.
Check tire age and tread depth
Look for the DOT date code on the sidewall — tires over five years old should be replaced regardless of tread. Tires are a safety item, not a cosmetic one.
Take a test ride
Confirm the clutch engages smoothly, the brakes feel firm, and the bike tracks straight at speed. Listen for valve noise, exhaust leaks, or electrical issues. A short test ride catches problems a visual inspection misses.
Motorcycle loans are typically shorter and more affordable than RV or boat loans. Here is what to know before financing through Salento Scooters in Hollywood, Florida.
Typical Loan Terms
36 to 60 months is most common for new motorcycles.
Down Payment
10% is typical. Some lenders offer zero-down for qualified buyers on new bikes.

This place is the Holy Grail of scooter shops which do everything---service, repairs & sales of new & used scooters. That's because they're honest, the prices are totally fair, the repair crew is highly skilled to say the least and there's an enormous selection of new & used scooters at all price points. They've done 3 repairs on my scooter over the past year & a half. All perfect. All reasonably price.. And they solved the 3rd problem so quickly that they didn't even charge me! Try to find a better scooter shop. Not Possible!
The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. He listened to my needs and preferences and answered all of my questions. I got a breakdown of each scooter and the pros and cons of picking between them. I never felt like I was being sold a scooter, just speaking to someone who was making sure I got exactly what I wanted. He took care of registering the scooter and ordering my plate too. I can't thank him enough for going above and beyond. The best part was the sales rep bringing my scooter and giving me a crash course on scooter riding. After he left I rode for 15 minutes and felt confident the whole ride. If you're looking for a scooter, whether you're a beginner or a seasoned rider, this shop is the place to go. Their service is next-level, and they'll hook you up with the perfect ride. Huge thanks to the staff for making my scooter dreams a reality! You guys rock!
