Buying a motorcycle from Rod's Power Sports in Roca, Nebraska? Follow this checklist before you commit.
Verify the title and VIN
Check the VIN on the frame, engine, and title to confirm they match. Run the VIN through a motorcycle history report. Rod's Power Sports should be able to provide documentation for any bike in their inventory.
Check the fork seals and bearings
Look for oil weeping down the fork tubes — a sign the seals need replacement. Grab the front wheel and push/pull firmly to check for play in the steering head bearings.
Inspect the chain and sprockets
A worn chain will have excess slack and the sprocket teeth will look hooked or pointed instead of rounded. Chain and sprocket replacement runs $200–$500. Factor that into your offer if it's needed.
Check tire age and tread depth
Look for the DOT date code on the sidewall — tires over five years old should be replaced regardless of tread. Tires are a safety item, not a cosmetic one.
Take a test ride
Confirm the clutch engages smoothly, the brakes feel firm, and the bike tracks straight at speed. Listen for valve noise, exhaust leaks, or electrical issues. A short test ride catches problems a visual inspection misses.
Motorcycle loans are typically shorter and more affordable than RV or boat loans. Here is what to know before financing through Rod's Power Sports in Roca, Nebraska.

I've tried to buy with my local "big" dealer in Omaha two times. No calls back and not great service. I emailed Rod's about a motorcycle I was interested in. Phil called me back quickly, asked questions about my riding and what I was interested in. He was excited about riding and the motorcycle I wanted. He got back to me promptly with my trade value and invited me to come ride it. I went the next day, rode it and bought it. They had it delivered to Omaha the next morning. It was a great experience and top notch customer service. If you want a Honda it's worth the drive! Couldn't be happier or recommend them more!
Thank you to Rods Power Sports for taking excellent care of me, and my 2018 CBR. Talon Blizek is the gentleman that helped me out, a big thank you to him. I explained I'm a new rider and felt like I was feeling small things that could be wrong, but also could be normal and just a lack of experience on my end combined with overthinking. He got me signed up for an oil change with an inspection, and comforted my feats that they would thoroughly check everything over! Sounds like they take em for a spin too and make sure everything is working correctly. This was my first service on my first bike. The pricing was reasonable and the service was excellent, Even some friendly conversations and was recommender some different exhausts after i mentioned interest in them. 10/10 would return and would trust them with my time and my bike. Thank you Talon, and thank you Rods Power Sports 😁
Bought a new motorcycle here. Don and Kurt did a great job of answering any questions I had. I will definitely recommend Rods in the future. Thank you guys.
Rod was easy to work with; great communication, pricing, and very accommodating. I would certainly do business with them again, and would recommend them to others.
I've had some bikes serviced here over the years and always been treated well. I'm glad the years of road construction in the area are finally coming to a close. Just got new tires with some scheduled maintenence done, I'll continue to bring my bikes here.
