Buying a motorcycle from Powersports of Vallejo in Vallejo, California? Follow this checklist before you commit.
Verify the title and VIN
Check the VIN on the frame, engine, and title to confirm they match. Run the VIN through a motorcycle history report. Powersports of Vallejo should be able to provide documentation for any bike in their inventory.
Check the fork seals and bearings
Look for oil weeping down the fork tubes — a sign the seals need replacement. Grab the front wheel and push/pull firmly to check for play in the steering head bearings.
Inspect the chain and sprockets
A worn chain will have excess slack and the sprocket teeth will look hooked or pointed instead of rounded. Chain and sprocket replacement runs $200–$500. Factor that into your offer if it's needed.
Check tire age and tread depth
Look for the DOT date code on the sidewall — tires over five years old should be replaced regardless of tread. Tires are a safety item, not a cosmetic one.
Take a test ride
Confirm the clutch engages smoothly, the brakes feel firm, and the bike tracks straight at speed. Listen for valve noise, exhaust leaks, or electrical issues. A short test ride catches problems a visual inspection misses.
Motorcycle loans are typically shorter and more affordable than RV or boat loans. Here is what to know before financing through Powersports of Vallejo in Vallejo, California.
Typical Loan Terms
36 to 60 months is most common for new motorcycles.
Down Payment
10% is typical. Some lenders offer zero-down for qualified buyers on new bikes.

This is the only place to go for 2 and 4 wheel vehicles. They have everything your looking for and everything you didn't know you were looking for. Great staff and super knowledgeable service department.
Had an awesome experience when purchasing my new SXS. Brett was very helpful, no pressure, and knowledgeable about the brand. They went above and beyond to meet my needs.
I scheduled a service call here while on a really long road trip. They did a great job installing my tire and were professional. If I hadn't already booked another appointment I would have had them take care of a couple other things while they had it.
I went to check out the bikes & as soon as I saw the 2022 Kawasaki Ninja ZX10R, I fell in love. I came back 2 days later and purchased it. Beautiful bike. I lover the colorway. Salesman was cool & the rest of the staff in the shop are helpful.
My story starts when I purchased a classic '76 KZ900LTD from a friend. Pete in parts found exactly what I needed including 'todays' spark plug application. I was able to complete the work to get the bike on the road in good time. NO HICCUPS. Ive returned several times for parts for the KZ and my Interceptor. But it came time for a new bike. PowerSports of Vallejo gave me top notch service and because of the parts guy, thats where I bought my Busa. Well guess who did the walk around? Pete!! super knowledgeable without making me 'drink from a firehose'. NOTE; the computer system can be complicated, (read the owners manual) but I wasn't intimidated cuz he was pretty darn thorough without over complicating it. Im a huge Motorhead, and know my way around bikes/cars/boats, etc. I felt comfortable not pressured, and GAVE me a fair price. So I highly recommend PowerSports of Vallejo. BTW my interceptor is for sale... LOL Thx, ThorQ2
