I bought my first bike from Power Brokers this summer, a 2009 Harley Road King. The buying process was quick and easy. Sales gets 5 stars. The rest of the review is primarily about the aftermarket warranty, TLDR at the bottom. About 500 miles later, I had a pretty bad leak from my inner primary. I figured the bike being a 2009 probably sat for a while and old seals finally gave up the ghost. I made the mistake of buying the warranty (more on that in a bit), which would not have covered seal from my understanding. So I bought the parts I knew I would need from Harley and tore into it. The jackshaft on my starter had been "rebuilt" by the previous owner. It didn't mesh up properly with the clutch basket and there was a lot of metal in the case. I'm not talking clutch material, but actual shards, one of which about 3/4 of an inch long. The starter was also absolutely smothered in anti-seize and the face of it was gouged. The splines and gear on the basket were actually sharp to the touch. Whoever was in this primary before me, knew that it was going to be a problem for the next guy. Unfortunately for me, I was the next guy. My brother happened to be trailering his bike to J&L so I hitched a ride with mine and dropped it off. Rich and his tech did all they could for me. The warranty wasn't going to cover the other stuff because the P.O. either did his own oil changes or had it done at an independent mechanic, and therefore, it was not "provable that the metal wasn't already in there before the sale" even though it was listed as having a fresh 3 hole oil change. The warranty only covered the R&R for the inner primary seal. No fault at all on Powerbrokers for this, lands squarely on the warranty. Rich was able to get me a good deal on a new starter and get some coverage from the warranty. He did all he could for me and I couldn't ask for much better. He worked with me quite a bit on parts prices as I had already bought quite a bit of it, and there was no way I was putting that starter, basket, and bearing back in as is with all the metal that they put in the primary. Service gets 5 stars. Assurant, the warranty company in question, is absolute garbage. Do yourself a favor and don't buy it. You'll just get the runaround. When I bought it, they (Powerbrokers) said it's actually better than the one they used to use. I don't even want to know how bad that could have been. Warranty, ZERO stars! TLDR, Power brokers is great, their service is great, but stay as far away from that aftermarket warranty as you can. I will definitely consider buying from Powerbrokers again, but I will absolutely decline the warranty.
