Buying a motorcycle from Nelsons Speed Shop in GREENVILLE, Michigan? Follow this checklist before you commit.
Verify the title and VIN
Check the VIN on the frame, engine, and title to confirm they match. Run the VIN through a motorcycle history report. Nelsons Speed Shop should be able to provide documentation for any bike in their inventory.
Check the fork seals and bearings
Look for oil weeping down the fork tubes — a sign the seals need replacement. Grab the front wheel and push/pull firmly to check for play in the steering head bearings.
Inspect the chain and sprockets
A worn chain will have excess slack and the sprocket teeth will look hooked or pointed instead of rounded. Chain and sprocket replacement runs $200–$500. Factor that into your offer if it's needed.
Check tire age and tread depth
Look for the DOT date code on the sidewall — tires over five years old should be replaced regardless of tread. Tires are a safety item, not a cosmetic one.
Take a test ride
Confirm the clutch engages smoothly, the brakes feel firm, and the bike tracks straight at speed. Listen for valve noise, exhaust leaks, or electrical issues. A short test ride catches problems a visual inspection misses.
Motorcycle loans are typically shorter and more affordable than RV or boat loans. Here is what to know before financing through Nelsons Speed Shop in GREENVILLE, Michigan.
Typical Loan Terms
36 to 60 months is most common for new motorcycles.

10% is typical. Some lenders offer zero-down for qualified buyers on new bikes.

Dereck did an amazing job with my sxs trade in. Very knowledgeable and very professional. Him and his team made an amazing deal for us and dropped off the new and picked up the old. I highly recommend seeing dereck when you need a new toy!
Im going to keep this review short, sweet and to the point. They had the sxs we were looking for, Samuel was a great salesman, the other staff was friendly, we were in and out in 30 minutes.
I just ordered a 2025 Polaris Sportsman 570 EPS. My salesman Sam DeBoer was so easy to deal with. I ordered several accessories and a complete plow system and Sam put it all together and when all accesories arrived he delivered as promised. I am not new to Nelson Speed shop. I got back to the 90's buying snowmobiles, ATVs, Custom trailers and have always been very pleased with their support and pricing. I am happy to give them 5 stars
"My first experience with Fox/Nelson's was fantastic! Our salesperson, Mitch, was incredibly helpful and truly flexible with our schedule. We were especially impressed that he prioritized our needs by coming in on his day off just so we could test drive the machine we were interested in. The entire team was welcoming and made the purchasing process straightforward and easy. If you are looking for new equipment or a boat, I highly recommend checking out Fox/Nelson's!"
I'm from out of town- stopped in for a part for my 2011 Sea Doo. Ron in parts was awesome and got me what I needed to get back on the water! Great folks from my experience. I will definitely go back in the future for service on my ski.
