Buying a motorcycle from Leo's South in Lakeville, Minnesota? Follow this checklist before you commit.
Verify the title and VIN
Check the VIN on the frame, engine, and title to confirm they match. Run the VIN through a motorcycle history report. Leo's South should be able to provide documentation for any bike in their inventory.
Check the fork seals and bearings
Look for oil weeping down the fork tubes — a sign the seals need replacement. Grab the front wheel and push/pull firmly to check for play in the steering head bearings.
Inspect the chain and sprockets
A worn chain will have excess slack and the sprocket teeth will look hooked or pointed instead of rounded. Chain and sprocket replacement runs $200–$500. Factor that into your offer if it's needed.
Check tire age and tread depth
Look for the DOT date code on the sidewall — tires over five years old should be replaced regardless of tread. Tires are a safety item, not a cosmetic one.
Take a test ride
Confirm the clutch engages smoothly, the brakes feel firm, and the bike tracks straight at speed. Listen for valve noise, exhaust leaks, or electrical issues. A short test ride catches problems a visual inspection misses.
Motorcycle loans are typically shorter and more affordable than RV or boat loans. Here is what to know before financing through Leo's South in Lakeville, Minnesota.
Typical Loan Terms
36 to 60 months is most common for new motorcycles.

10% is typical. Some lenders offer zero-down for qualified buyers on new bikes.

Had a great experience working with Leo’s South team on my recent purchase of a CF moto U10 Highland SXS.
Heidi was absolutely AMAZING. Incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and responsive, cannot speak highly enough of working with her, she truly goes above and beyond! Great showroom with tons and tons of options for all the fun things: motorcycles, side by sides, jet skis, snowmobiles.. they have it all, and all the gear for everything! Everyone was incredibly accommodating considering we showed up a week early to buy my bike (even got it through service for us quickly since we drove 1.5 hours to come!) Tommy was awesome and worked hard to get everything done as fast as possible so I could squeeze a ride in yet today. Even met an owner who was super friendly and helped us get the bike loaded on the way out, the staff is super friendly and efficient! Will be back next time we want a new toy, and if you're in the market check this place out!!
Sam and the entire team where the most friendliest and knowledgeable staff we met! I highly recommend Leo's South for your next purchase. We will definitely be back again!
I’ll start off by saying I have never left a review anywhere but Leo’s upset me enough to do so. I do not recommend Leo’s. I brought my can am x3 to get service done this summer. I had it there for two weeks to do a tune up and oil change and had to call numerous times for an update. Once I finally got ahold of someone they told me they broke my mirror off getting it inside. Things happen and that’s not a big deal. But They offered 50 dollars off the service being done instead of replacing it which wouldn’t even cover a new mirror. Once I picked it up I found they tried to glue it back together to cover it up prior to telling me it was broken. While I waited an hour for them to go get my x3 when picking it up I ended up looking at the pit bikes and decided to purchase ssr 140 from them. I have had nothing but problems since day one. It’s never started right or ran correctly. I bought this with intention of just having some fun on my property, but haven’t really used it due to issues, now they refuse to help. I brought it back shortly after I bought it they replaced the carb, replaced spokes that fell out or never got installed and the chain was so loose slapping the arm. I dropped it off beginning of october and it was not completed until middle of December. They had called saying it was completed and I told them wasn’t able to pick it up right away that week, they threatened to charge me storage if it wasn’t picked up within a week of completion even tho they had it for two and a half months. Fast forward to this week April 8th it was warm out so I wanted to start it for the first time since I picked it up. Sold it to me with a full tank and just now added fuel for the first time to try to get it going for the year, and it doesn’t start. I called service and they told me I was going to get charged for diag and that it was because the fuel was bad, apparently they can diagnose over the phone. Keep in mind they should have replaced the fuel when they replaced the carb under warranty instead of running the same fuel they claimed was bad through the new carb. I also noticed the exhaust was loose and melting the plastics.I have been able to ride this 5-6 times since purchase otherwise it’s been broken or at the shop. The nubs are still on the tires and only the original tank has been ran through it. Waste of money and time dealing with these guys and they refuse to stand by the things they sell.
Denys did a great job selling me my 2025 CFMoto 1000 Overland. The process took a bit longer than I was expecting but they take their customer relationship seriously. I also traded in a machine and they made that process super easy - they even picked up the machine. Thank you, Chuck! I was also very impressed with Steve in service. The machine I bought had a little bit of crate rash that I didn't even notice when I was looking at it. Rather than let me take it, Steve made sure I was aware of the damage and they took care of it. I appreciate the honesty! They could have just let it go out the door... Nice job everyone at Leo's. Thank you!
