Buying a motorcycle from Koup's Cycle Shop in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania? Follow this checklist before you commit.
Verify the title and VIN
Check the VIN on the frame, engine, and title to confirm they match. Run the VIN through a motorcycle history report. Koup's Cycle Shop should be able to provide documentation for any bike in their inventory.
Check the fork seals and bearings
Look for oil weeping down the fork tubes — a sign the seals need replacement. Grab the front wheel and push/pull firmly to check for play in the steering head bearings.
Inspect the chain and sprockets
A worn chain will have excess slack and the sprocket teeth will look hooked or pointed instead of rounded. Chain and sprocket replacement runs $200–$500. Factor that into your offer if it's needed.
Check tire age and tread depth
Look for the DOT date code on the sidewall — tires over five years old should be replaced regardless of tread. Tires are a safety item, not a cosmetic one.
Take a test ride
Confirm the clutch engages smoothly, the brakes feel firm, and the bike tracks straight at speed. Listen for valve noise, exhaust leaks, or electrical issues. A short test ride catches problems a visual inspection misses.
Motorcycle loans are typically shorter and more affordable than RV or boat loans. Here is what to know before financing through Koup's Cycle Shop in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Typical Loan Terms
36 to 60 months is most common for new motorcycles.

This is the second time I’ve made a purchase from this shop both times I am blown away with how quick and easy the process is I walked into the shop on a Friday morning at 10:07 AM by 10:34 AM. I was walking out with a new bike. Great customer service friendly people nice shop I could go on for days about how rad this experience was. I needed a new pit bike for work and they had exactly what I was looking for. And the best price within my area. Jim is who I worked with, really nice guy. Everybody in the shop was really nice Jim and Shay and I’m sorry I didn’t get the third guy‘s name in the shop. Everybody so kind as I walked in the shop. There was a dog sitting at the service desk. That was just ready to be pet and loved and I love dogs so that was a big plus for me.
Just bought my second bike from them. I've had nothing but great experiences here. So many other dealerships feel like car dealerships with salesmen that pressure you and lowball you on your trade and try to get every dollar from you. Koup's is honestly so chill and helpful when you need them to be. Feels like a real family place. They price things fairly and transparently without any tricks or surprises. For example, when they gave me an OTD quote they told me straight up that a $500 extended warranty was on there but I can remove it no problem - rather than sneak it on there and hope I didn't notice or ask about it. Very upfront and transparent. I was also really pleased with the value they offered for my trade which was $500-1000 more than a certain dealer across the river (which made me roll my eyes when they told me what they were offering). Couple it with the great discount they put on the bike I was buying and I feel like I got a really nice deal. I never experienced any pushy sales tactics or anything, just quick and straightforward answers to my questions. Will be bringing my bike back for its first service soon and they even told me as long as I call ahead they can get it done while I wait which is great because I live about an hour away. But I'll keep coming back here because I support the way they do business.
First time as a customer here and will definitely be back. They helped me size a helmet correctly and I thought I had it right and the girl told me I needed one size smaller, and she was absolutely right - fit perfectly after arriving. Just had service done on my Honda Grom, and I like that I always talk to the same guy (Sam) who kept me informed and up to date. Great shop that I will certainly return to.
Amazing shop! Low sided my ninja and they were able to get working on it right away when other shops had waitlists over a month! Super great and nice people, worked with me through every step and accommodated me greatly. They let me take home some of my damaged pieces they replaced, and let me pick up the bike early after the essential work was done; instead of making me wait on a back ordered cosmetic part. Also have the best selection of gear anywhere around here besides Cycle Gear, super impressive for a dealership.
nice shop, jackets pants shoes gloves, good gear! phone mounts, etc. i got a nice level 2 jacket for $99 on sale! ill be back nice people and a dog to play fetch with lol
