Buying a motorcycle from Indian Motorcycles of Savannah in Savannah, Georgia? Follow this checklist before you commit.
Verify the title and VIN
Check the VIN on the frame, engine, and title to confirm they match. Run the VIN through a motorcycle history report. Indian Motorcycles of Savannah should be able to provide documentation for any bike in their inventory.
Check the fork seals and bearings
Look for oil weeping down the fork tubes — a sign the seals need replacement. Grab the front wheel and push/pull firmly to check for play in the steering head bearings.
Inspect the chain and sprockets
A worn chain will have excess slack and the sprocket teeth will look hooked or pointed instead of rounded. Chain and sprocket replacement runs $200–$500. Factor that into your offer if it's needed.
Check tire age and tread depth
Look for the DOT date code on the sidewall — tires over five years old should be replaced regardless of tread. Tires are a safety item, not a cosmetic one.
Take a test ride
Confirm the clutch engages smoothly, the brakes feel firm, and the bike tracks straight at speed. Listen for valve noise, exhaust leaks, or electrical issues. A short test ride catches problems a visual inspection misses.

I went with my son to check out the possibility of purchasing his first motorcycle at Savannah Motorsports and it was the best decision we made. Walked in and met with Chris Chauvenne, and he is welcoming and friendly! Any question I threw at him (which was a lot), he had answers. He knew I was apprehensive about my son not only purchasing, but riding a motorcycle and he truly put my mind at ease (a little anyway. :) ). My son found the perfect bike for him and the financial process went to Ron from there. Another friendly and knowledgeable person who walked us through the entire process. I even had Bob come over to us during the purchasing process to let me know that he thought the voicemail I left sounded like I was such a nice person and he wanted to meet me. Any staff member I met was so friendly as well. Thank you all so much for making this process easy and wonderful. My son is beyond ecstatic with his new motorcycle.
Great group of people, purchase went smooth, no problems, parts dept was a great help selling helmet and jackets while we waited on the purchase of the Roadmaster to be completed. Highly recommend this Dealer. We drove two and a half hours to buy here
I recently had an exceptional experience at Savannah Motorsports. From start to finish, the team was professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to making the process as seamless as possible. The salesman did an outstanding job coordinating every detail, ensuring we were informed and comfortable throughout. The staff worked together in perfect sync, answering all our questions and going above and beyond to meet our needs. They made us feel valued and truly exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend Savannah Motorsports to anyone looking for a smooth, enjoyable purchasing experience with top-notch service.
I wish I could leave 0 stars. I bought a motorcycle from this dealership on 29 Oct. 2025. On November 26th, I got an email saying that they "apologize" but they still didn't have the title to send to my lien company but they should be getting it "soon". On December 9th, another email "any day now". December 17th, "by the end of the month". December 31st "they are going to over night it by Friday" (Jan 2nd). On January 8th "should be shipping to us tomorrow". During this time frame I have had to waste time getting an extension on my temporary plate, which expires in a few days and you can only get an extension once, so after that I am not legally able to ride the motorcycle that they sold me. In addition, I am having to deal with the Credit Union who is threatening to increase my current APR because they haven't received the title yet. So here we are, 71 days in, still no title, and only a few more days I'm legally allowed to ride my bike. Why should I pay a penalty and for documentation fees for documents I haven't even received and for a motorcycle that I can't even use?
Lovely place, friendly staff. I have been to the shop to get close to the legend. Brilliant range of models and range of Indians. Simply a great place to make the day of any bike lover. Staff is simply brilliant and friendly. As I was only overseas tourist I could walk out with only t-shirt and head scarf instead of Scout :)
