Motorcycle Buyer's Guide – Ducati Omaha

Buying a motorcycle from Ducati Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska? Follow this checklist before you commit.

  1. 1

    Verify the title and VIN

Check the VIN on the frame, engine, and title to confirm they match. Run the VIN through a motorcycle history report. Ducati Omaha should be able to provide documentation for any bike in their inventory.

  2. 2

Check the fork seals and bearings

Look for oil weeping down the fork tubes — a sign the seals need replacement. Grab the front wheel and push/pull firmly to check for play in the steering head bearings.

  3. 3

    Inspect the chain and sprockets

A worn chain will have excess slack and the sprocket teeth will look hooked or pointed instead of rounded. Chain and sprocket replacement runs $200–$500. Factor that into your offer if it's needed.

  4. 4

Check tire age and tread depth

Look for the DOT date code on the sidewall — tires over five years old should be replaced regardless of tread. Tires are a safety item, not a cosmetic one.

  5. 5

    Take a test ride

Confirm the clutch engages smoothly, the brakes feel firm, and the bike tracks straight at speed. Listen for valve noise, exhaust leaks, or electrical issues. A short test ride catches problems a visual inspection misses.

This is the closest dealer as I live in SD. My first interaction was years ago when I had my 12’ Diavel in for desmo service. Price was lower than expected and time was not of the issue. Fast forward a few years as I moved to AZ for a year and then back. By that time I had a 21 Multistrada V4S that I had gotten through Ducati Vegas. I had some error code issues during the break-in period resulting in multiple trips. They always made me a priority, willing to work around my schedule. One time we did demo rides with Tim. After a couple years I decided to part ways with the MTSv4S and go back to my squid roots (sbk). I had the option of working with Moon Motorsports and Omaha on Panigale V4’s. Initially due to pricing I had already moved forward with Moon. I decided to let Tim crunch some numbers, because why not. He came in clutch and I ended up buying through Omaha. I cannot say enough about this place. I’ve never had any issues with service and/or ordering parts or merchandise from them. The service team is first rate, friendly, and knowledgeable!!! They’re always quick to response to questions (which I’m sure they get a ton of). I will continue to utilize Omaha as my Ducati dealer for as long as I can. They’re the best, thanks gang!!!

There used to be two reliable online retailers for Ducati parts and apparel—now there’s effectively one. I placed two orders with Ducati Omaha in October and November of 2025. Since then, the estimated fulfillment date has repeatedly slipped forward month by month. As of now, delivery is pushed to late February 2026. I gave Ducati Omaha the benefit of the doubt, but in hindsight I should have ordered from AMS Ducati in Texas instead. The ongoing delays, shifting timelines, and lack of resolution have been frustrating. I won’t be ordering from here again.

I was on a cross country trip on my 2016 Multistrada when I noticed an oil leak on the left side of the case. I guessed it was the countershaft seal. While researching where to get the part from, I discovered I was only 20 miles from Ducati Omaha, so I went there. 5 minutes after arriving they had the bike on the lift and confirmed my diagnosis. They had the seal in stock so they got that squared away. Just before driving off, I saw that there was a screw in my rear tire too! They had the same tire in stock and got that mounted pronto. What I thought may be the end of my trip ended up being a minor inconvenience and everything was done for a fair price. All the staff at the shop were friendly and knowledgeable and I can't thank them enough!

I ordered a Ducati DesertX Rally seat. However, they incorrectly sent me a standard seat. (I will revisit my review depending on how the refund and/or exchange process is handled.)

My son Ryan purchased a 2024 Ducati Scrambler Full Throttle from Tim in September 2023 and he could not be more happy with his purchase. Tim was patient, knowledgable, responded to many emails/texts, and treated Ryan so respectfully being a younger buyer. Most other dealers just ignored Ryan when we visited, so Tim/Ducati Omaha were worth the drive from Kansas City and the 8am truck rental to haul it back the same day. Going forward, Tim is our go to for everything Ducati.
