I took my basically brand new 2025 Can Am Outlander 850 XT here for a break in service that is due at 10 hrs. The machine only had 8.5 hours on it at the time I dropped it off. I asked for an oil change and to program an extra key for the machine and when I picked it up my bill was $324. This came as quite the shock to me so I naturally started asking questions, I was told the reason it cost so much is due to the inspection that was done along with the oil change. I work in the automotive repair industry so I understand doing an inspection with a service but the machine only has 8.5 hrs and anything that it could possibly need should and would be covered under warranty. Therefore I don’t feel that charging for an inspection is ok in this situation. I was able to get about $42 back because there were 2 extra quarts of oil charged out on my invoice. After I had loaded the ATV on my trailer and strapped it down I noticed it was dripping oil out of the bottom onto my trailer, it was not leaking oil but the skid plate was filled with oil from when the oil change was done. I’m not talking about a little bit of oil, it is a lot of oil, it is currently still dripping on my garage floor. I don’t usually leave reviews and I really do not like to leave negative reviews but I feel like it’s warranted in this situation. I will attach photos of the bottom of my ATV to show the oil dripping out.
I bought a Ranger 570 full size for our 10 acre lot. Mike was very helpful and educated me on the models available and what would fit my needs. I wanted something to pull the log splitter and haul the chain saw. No extreme trail riding for us. I would definitely work with them again.
First and foremost, Advantage PowerSports is Veteran owned and operated. My purchase was for sure a no pressure and no haggle experience. Thank you to everyone involved in my purchase. I absolutely love my 2025 Can Am Defender Limited.
I don’t normally write reviews like this, but I think it’s important to share experiences that can help others make informed decisions about where to spend their money. I recently dropped off two jet skis at Advantage Power Sports for service. When I returned to pick them up, the taillight on the driver’s side of my trailer was broken off and dangling. I had specifically inspected both taillights before leaving home, and they were fully intact. There were no incidents while driving, and the damage was clearly new when I picked up the trailer. When I pointed this out to the technician, he brought it to the attention of the service manager. The manager told me immediately that the light was already broken when it arrived, which didn’t match my memory or inspection. He offered to review camera footage, but the video was too distant and unclear to prove anything. It honestly seemed like someone may have accidentally stepped on or kicked it while the jet skis were being worked on. What really disappointed me wasn’t the broken light itself — that’s an easy fix — but how the situation was handled. Instead of listening and trying to find a fair resolution, the tone quickly shifted to defensiveness. It felt less like a company standing behind its work and more like a “cover yourself” culture. This isn’t about the cost of a taillight; it’s about integrity and how customers are treated when something goes wrong. I believe most people are good, and most businesses want to do right by their customers. Unfortunately, that wasn’t my experience here. If you choose to do business with Advantage Power Sports, my advice is to trust but verify — document your equipment before you drop it off and inspect everything carefully when you pick it up.
Great experience with purchasing a PWC, as well as a great experience with the service department installing mods. Friendly, timely and fair pricing. I look forward to doing business with them in the future.

Buying a motorcycle from Advantage Powersports in Kansas City, Missouri? Follow this checklist before you commit.
Verify the title and VIN
Check the VIN on the frame, engine, and title to confirm they match. Run the VIN through a motorcycle history report. Advantage Powersports should be able to provide documentation for any bike in their inventory.
Check the fork seals and bearings
Look for oil weeping down the fork tubes — a sign the seals need replacement. Grab the front wheel and push/pull firmly to check for play in the steering head bearings.
Inspect the chain and sprockets
A worn chain will have excess slack and the sprocket teeth will look hooked or pointed instead of rounded. Chain and sprocket replacement runs $200–$500. Factor that into your offer if it's needed.
Check tire age and tread depth
Look for the DOT date code on the sidewall — tires over five years old should be replaced regardless of tread. Tires are a safety item, not a cosmetic one.
Take a test ride
Confirm the clutch engages smoothly, the brakes feel firm, and the bike tracks straight at speed. Listen for valve noise, exhaust leaks, or electrical issues. A short test ride catches problems a visual inspection misses.
