Courtney Byers has gone above and beyond the expectations of great service. If this level of commitment carries through out YHWS&RV then they will definitely be a step above all the others. This is the place to shop! They have won all of my future business. Thanks Courtney!

We were on vacation in Hiawassee for the week of 7/21-7/26 and my son wanted to have some work done to his boat trailer while he had his boat in the water. He went to service department on Tuesday 7/22 and they check out trailer. Just wanted to have a new strap on his winch and they told him he needed to have his springs replaced and his bunk bolts cut out and replaced. They said couldn't get springs done by Friday 7/25 , but could do the strap and most likely the bolts for the bunk. They also told him they could put some clamps on the springs to hold them together. Told him parts should be around $100 or so. No price for labor at this time. So a few days go by and didn't hear anything. I ended up calling on Friday afternoon to see what was going on as we were leaving on Saturday morning. Finally got someone on the phone and they told me what they had done. Put on strap and cut bolts out of bunk and replaced them. Nothing with the springs, ready to be picked up. I said okay, what's the cost. I was told $830. I said for what???? We weren't even given a price for that cost whatsover. They gave some song and dance about this and that, but I said you still didn't call us with a price before doing the work. I was expecting maybe $250, but not $800ish. I asked to speak with the manager Ben. He pretty much gave the same song and dance. He gave an hour off of labor which brought it down to $642. Very unhappy with this place. I called the marine and motorsports service department we shop at in Tampa and told them what work they did and what they would charge. They said about $375 with parts and labor. Should have read some of the other bad reviews before taking there. Watch out for them Small town crooks.

A great experience! Traded our two year old camper for a new Imagine XLS that better met our needs. The out the door price was fair and all promises met. Walk-thru was thorough. We also had slide toppers added after purchase and service department did a great job and is a pleasure to do business with.

My husband and I stopped by to look at new campers. On that day we were NOT driving our towing vehicle (Ram 2500 diesel). And this may be why we were treated differently. Just our opinion. We arrived at 3pm and knew they closed at 5pm. As we were looking at the first camper we walked into, and were very interested in, an employee was walking through the lot locking up the campers. We confirmed they did not close until 5pm and was told by this employee that very few customers come by after 3 so they lock up the campers. Ok? But we were there looking at campers and we were a potential customer!? Anyway, we finished looking at said camper, walked inside to ask for a brochure and an employee went in the back to retrieve the brochure. After this employee returned we were told there were no brochures but we could look online to get any information we needed. That employee came from the sales area so we thought he was a salesman. If he was he was not interested in selling a camper. He did not offer to look up the information for us and did not offer to answer any questions. We are not sure what was going through their minds that day but we got the distinct impression they thought we were not serious buyers. Too bad for them because we were. We currently own a camper and have for over 15 years (and have owned 2 other campers during that time). We were looking to upgrade/for a floorplan change. However, after our experience on that day we decided that we would not give this place our business. We hope they do not treat others this way because over time that will cause them to miss many sale opportunities.

This summer I have spent over $125,000 between getting a new boat and Jet ski. The process was smooth and easy at first. The speedometer and interior lights did not work out of the gate. Took a few times to call but they sent someone out to look at the issues. He fixed the light quickly and thought he fixed the speedometer. I took the boat out that afternoon, and the speedometer still wasn’t fixed and within two weeks the interior lights wouldn’t work again. I called back and they said they would check with the manufacturer about getting a whole new part. They never got back with me. I gave them a month because I knew it was the busy summer season, since then I have called six times and even left messages with the salesman who sold me the boat. I’m yet to get a callback from anyone in the service department. I have requested to speak to a manager twice and still have not even heard from them. So buyer beware on the service side of this company. Very poor customer service once you purchase an item from them.

Boat Buyer's Guide – Young Harris Watersports & RV

Buying a boat from Young Harris Watersports & RV in Young Harris, Georgia? Use this guide to evaluate any listing before you commit.

  1. 1

Match the boat to your waters

Pontoons and deck boats suit calm lakes. Deep-V hulls handle chop on larger lakes and coastal water. Center consoles are versatile for fishing. Ask Young Harris Watersports & RV which models suit the waterways near Young Harris, Georgia.

  2. 2

    Inspect the hull carefully

Look for stress cracks, blistering, or repairs on fiberglass hulls. Check the transom for soft spots by pressing firmly — a solid transom feels rigid. Osmotic blistering costs thousands to repair.

  3. 3

    Check engine hours

Inboard and outboard engines are typically rated to 1,500–3,000 hours. Low-hour engines with service records are worth more. Ask to see oil change and winterization records for any boat at Young Harris Watersports & RV.

  4. 4

    Request a sea trial

Test the boat on the water before buying. Run it at full throttle. Listen for unusual noises. Check that the throttle and steering respond smoothly. Reputable dealers like Young Harris Watersports & RV will accommodate this request.

  5. 5

    Verify title and registration

Ask for the current title and confirm the hull identification number (HIN) matches. Check for any liens with your state boating agency. Young Harris Watersports & RV should be able to walk you through the paperwork.
