Buying a boat from Valley Marine in Yakima, Washington? Use this guide to evaluate any listing before you commit.
Match the boat to your waters
Pontoons and deck boats suit calm lakes. Deep-V hulls handle chop on larger lakes and coastal water. Center consoles are versatile for fishing. Ask Valley Marine which models suit the waterways near Yakima, Washington.
Inspect the hull carefully
Look for stress cracks, blistering, or repairs on fiberglass hulls. Check the transom for soft spots by pressing firmly — a solid transom feels rigid. Osmotic blistering costs thousands to repair.
Check engine hours
Inboard and outboard engines are typically rated to 1,500–3,000 hours. Low-hour engines with service records are worth more. Ask to see oil change and winterization records for any boat at Valley Marine.
Request a sea trial
Test the boat on the water before buying. Run it at full throttle. Listen for unusual noises. Check that the throttle and steering respond smoothly. Reputable dealers like Valley Marine will accommodate this request.
Verify title and registration
Ask for the current title and confirm the hull identification number (HIN) matches. Check for any liens with your state boating agency. Valley Marine should be able to walk you through the paperwork.
Marine financing has unique terms. Here is what to know before financing a boat through Valley Marine in Yakima, Washington.
Typical Loan Terms
10 to 20 years for larger boats. Smaller boats are typically financed over 5 to 10 years.

Great full service boat sales and service! Give Paul a call in service and he is awesome, very knowledgeable, and eager to work with you. Just make sure you call 3-5 weeks before you need work done because they get backed up but worth the wait!
I went to Valley Marine on a Monday morning to look at a boat they had on consignment. After looking at the boat, I made an offer to which the owner of the business said the owner of the boat probably wouldn't accept. The owner then said he had to make a few phone calls. 35 minutes later, I left. I was pretty much abandoned and left alone....no counter offer, no nothing. I was pretty sure they were holding the boat for another gent who came in just after me. They seemed much more eager to work with him. Shame too, it was a super clean boat.
Awesome guys at Valley. Dan and Joe helped me get my dream boat, it was everything I expected and more. They always returned their phone calls, often after hours. He took time to send me video for shipping purposes and were just a 100% great guys.

Great buying experience on a new Lund Crossover. Our sales rep Stacy was always available, quick to return calls and texts, patient, and professional. I appreciated that throughout the whole process I was included in conversations not just my husband (happens a lot). If I had to do it all over again, I would not hesitate to go with Valley Marine.
