This restaurant won meover for the fish and also bc the sampler is a sampler! They give you everything the offer and sides as well so you get to try all they offer. The corn bread was exceptional & the coleslaw as well. The fish and chips was perfectly seasoned. I thought I would’ve like the bbq more but the fish was fabuloussss! Would definitely have again. The brisket was a bit too fatty for me, chicken was a bit dry but seasoning was good, pulled pork could’ve use a little more flavor, and the sausages were pretty ok.
Customer service was great but the food was ok. Had the brisket sandwich and brisket was dry, really dry. Even with BBQ sauce it was dry. Ate amout half the sandwich and gave up. Cornbread was not good, was still undercooked in the middle. The onion straws we’re about the best thing I got.
The place was really cool inside. Super cool decor and everything was really clean. The restrooms were also super clean. The patio had a cool vibe going as well. I was the only person in the place because they had just opened. The waitress was super cool and informative. Was it the best pulled pork I’ve ever eaten? No, but it was good. The barbecue sauce was pretty good. Would I come back? Probably, if I were in the neighborhood.
It’s Friday & the place is packed with people waiting to get in. Unfortunately there was only 2 servers!!! They did a great job with what they were dealing with! The food was excellent but I’m not sure if it’s really worth waiting for. I don’t know what the owner pays his employees but I’m thinking it’s not enough as he doesn’t have enough servers! I’m glad I got there early!!!!
I'm visiting from Oklahoma and have to say Tom's is the best BBQ I have ever tasted! Very friendly staff, large portions, and reasonable pricing!! I strongly suggest you give it a try if your ever in the Mesa, AZ area!
