Buying a boat from Tadpoles Marine LLC - Hugo in Hugo, Oklahoma? Use this guide to evaluate any listing before you commit.
Match the boat to your waters
Pontoons and deck boats suit calm lakes. Deep-V hulls handle chop on larger lakes and coastal water. Center consoles are versatile for fishing. Ask Tadpoles Marine LLC - Hugo which models suit the waterways near Hugo, Oklahoma.
Inspect the hull carefully
Look for stress cracks, blistering, or repairs on fiberglass hulls. Check the transom for soft spots by pressing firmly — a solid transom feels rigid. Osmotic blistering costs thousands to repair.
Check engine hours
Inboard and outboard engines are typically rated to 1,500–3,000 hours. Low-hour engines with service records are worth more. Ask to see oil change and winterization records for any boat at Tadpoles Marine LLC - Hugo.
Request a sea trial
Test the boat on the water before buying. Run it at full throttle. Listen for unusual noises. Check that the throttle and steering respond smoothly. Reputable dealers like Tadpoles Marine LLC - Hugo will accommodate this request.
Verify title and registration
Ask for the current title and confirm the hull identification number (HIN) matches. Check for any liens with your state boating agency. Tadpoles Marine LLC - Hugo should be able to walk you through the paperwork.

I had all the oil changed in my 75 Mercury. It was very reasonable on price and it took them less than an hour to do it. I had a couple of issue in my seats that they fixed with out me having to ask them to. They are great folks to deal with.
Great business, customer service is A1. I chose to deal with them for the service after the purchase and it has been great!
Michael is a really good guy to do business with! He is as honest as they come! And works hard to make you a customer for life. We love our new boat that wr got from him!!!
Dakota and Michael were very helpful. They answered all of my questions and made sure that I had everything that I needed. If you are in the Hugo area and looking for a boat THIS is the place! Worth the drive even if you aren't in the area!
Friendly took their time to listen. Didn't try to rush you out the door. Sorry I forgot their names. But the young man and young lady working in there are the friendliest. Doesn't matter if it's on the phone or in person. Just wish they were closer to Broken Bow.
