My husband purchased a Suzuki boat motor from The Sports Center in Perry, GA. The sales process and pickup day went smoothly, and we initially felt confident in our purchase. Unfortunately, that changed immediately after we got the motor home. During the required break-in period for the warranty, the motor had severe shaking. We brought it back the very next day expecting support, but the customer service was extremely disappointing. We were repeatedly told there was “nothing wrong” because no error codes showed up on their computer, and that the shaking was “normal.” That’s not something any customer wants to hear after spending $5,000 on a new motor. We made multiple trips (over an hour each way) trying to get this resolved and were essentially dismissed every time. The situation escalated when we called ahead and clearly told them we were coming on Saturday to pick up our boat because we were done going back and forth. After driving all the way there, we were told we couldn’t retrieve our own property because the service building was closed, even though we had verbally communicated our plans in advance. They still refused to release our boat. We ultimately had to call the Perry Sheriff’s Office. When a deputy went in to speak with the owner, they were finally able to get someone on the phone to unlock the gate so we could finally get our boat back. The lack of accountability, communication, and basic customer respect was shocking. Based on our experience, I would not recommend The Sports Center in Perry.
I have been doing business with The Sports Center of Perry for many, many years. I have looked past that they are higher than everyone else, but they are convenient. As long as you are spending money with them, all is well. But if you have to bring something back for a refund, the answer is a resounding “no.” Charles Ayer, the owner, is heartless and only cares about money. I am not buying anything from Mr. Ayer anymore and if you can, you should consider doing the same. The best place to go is Broken Arrow Outfitters just past the Fairgrounds in Perry. See Ryan, he treated me right. Charles Ayer is too wealthy, snobbish and important to help common people like me and you. I have spent thousands of dollars with Charles Ayer, but not anymore! If you want good customer service, don’t go to The Sports Center in Perry! Go to Broken Arrow Outfitters in Perry by the Stripling General Store. God bless you. Psalm 91.

I bought a Lowe Jon Boat and there was a mix up from the Manufacturer and Tommy, my Sales Rep, went way above and beyond in driving the boat ~200 miles to deliver it to me. Prices are little high which I guess is to be expected when your not buying from the big box retailers and maybe it was because I was looking for something other than a boat but people working were not friendly. Not sure I would make the trip back to this store for any future needs.
