Buying a boat from Seattle Yachts - San Diego in San Diego, California? Use this guide to evaluate any listing before you commit.
Match the boat to your waters
Pontoons and deck boats suit calm lakes. Deep-V hulls handle chop on larger lakes and coastal water. Center consoles are versatile for fishing. Ask Seattle Yachts - San Diego which models suit the waterways near San Diego, California.
Inspect the hull carefully
Look for stress cracks, blistering, or repairs on fiberglass hulls. Check the transom for soft spots by pressing firmly — a solid transom feels rigid. Osmotic blistering costs thousands to repair.
Check engine hours
Inboard and outboard engines are typically rated to 1,500–3,000 hours. Low-hour engines with service records are worth more. Ask to see oil change and winterization records for any boat at Seattle Yachts - San Diego.
Request a sea trial
Test the boat on the water before buying. Run it at full throttle. Listen for unusual noises. Check that the throttle and steering respond smoothly. Reputable dealers like Seattle Yachts - San Diego will accommodate this request.
Verify title and registration
Ask for the current title and confirm the hull identification number (HIN) matches. Check for any liens with your state boating agency. Seattle Yachts - San Diego should be able to walk you through the paperwork.

Typical Loan Terms
10 to 20 years for larger boats. Smaller boats are typically financed over 5 to 10 years.

10% to 20% is standard. Some lenders require more for older vessels.

We have sold two boats with Seattle Yachts SD (specifically Tiffany). Both were absolutely great experiences. From understanding market value of our boat, to showings and through the finalization of the sale we felt comfortable and she represented us very well. We recently asked Tiffany to help us buy a boat. Again.... could not have been smoother, faster or more efficient. The other team member (Vadim) was super knowledgeable and together they provided a great buying experience from start to finish. Thank you both!
Was a great hotel the free parking underneath was a great plus.. walking distance to alpt of great restaurants. The naval airport is close but it didn't bother us.. pool is kinda small but we were there for the ocean anyways. Bathrooms kinda small but that's california for ya. Still was a great hotel for the location. Bed not as comfy for me.. but everyone's comfort is different.
Don Marchi is not only a super person, but he is a man of integrity. Could not of asked for a more caring, competent broker.
