Working on my 1997 stingray 181 rs with a mercury force 75 hp 2 stroke outboard engine couldnt get anyone too help me made one phone call mr smith himself contacted me regarding the parts I needed everyone said need too repower he said I got the parts didnt even mention a repower all his parts prop bilge pump that ive purchased so far have worked flawlessly and quote too repower with honda 90hp was 10k almost 5k cheaper than anyone else and greatoutdoors may sale flashy toys but has a very pushy staff mr smith if your reading this thank you for your assistance will continue too come back till your outta parts or my boat fails then will be purchasing a motor from you for my next boat build
Had a problem with my Honda trim unit. After spending over $2,000 at another 2 “Honda dealers”, Roger Smith fixed mine under warranty.. the others said I Caused the problem and therefore no warranty. I’ve been fighting this for 4 years. Highly recommend them. Finally… peace of mind.
Purchased a Honda 5 hp motor from roger smith back in March , first time out it ran great, second time it wouldn’t start at all, so took it home pulled plug and dried out cyclinder, third time out it ran for 30 seconds and then quit, called down here and told roger what it was doing and asked him if it would be covered under warranty and he said it sounded like needle valve was stuck open, and it might have dirt or debris in the carb, and then said it’s $90 a hour labor rate, instead of saying bring it down I’ll get it taken care of it. What’s the use of a warranty. As much as I hate to I’ll be going to great outdoors marine. I know you don’t care pal, you pricked me on it, I’ll paddle a boat before I come back.
Terrible! A friend had them fix a boat and he charged him and didn’t fix it. He ran the boat and it had no oil getting to the motor so the boat will not run and it is $9,000 to fix it! He tried to speak with the owner and he basically said SOL! Terrible customer service! Don’t use this place!
After over a month they never looked at boat to fix. I picked it up, If you want a quick fix than avoid this place.
