I have a rant. Possum Kingdom Marine use to be Sandy Creek Marina. I have owned boats for the last 35 years and have purchased everything in their store from a dog life jacket (last week) to a fish and ski boat in about 1995. I took my boat in about a month ago to get it lake ready. I had a countertop that needed to be glued down because it had come loose. It wasn’t broken, just needed glue. When I got the boat back the countertop was broken in half and glued in place. What?? Why would we want a broken countertop glued down?? We PAID them to do that! We called them and they said it was broke when it came in. It wasn’t. They asked for pics. We sent them. They said the tech said it was broke when we brought it in. It wasn’t. My mistake was not taking the tech around the boat to take his pic by everything I wanted fixed to prove it wasn’t broken (worse) than when we brought it in (if that makes since 🤷🏼♀️). I’ve never had to do ANY of that before. People use to stand by their work. They don’t anymore. They don’t care what they lose as long as they’re covered for now. I’m building a house right now too and boat mechanics aren’t the only ones. (I could tell you a crazy story about exterior doors and interior floors but this is about boats.) Every business in America is suffering right now and I have the feeling it’s only going to get worse. Be smart. Take pics. Make sure you are completely covered. Even if you’ve been there before and things went great. Don’t trust ANYONE!! Even if that company makes all their money here, make sure you have pics of EVERYTHING with the tech in the pic!! You will feel dumb doing this but it will keep your equipment safe. Make sure you cover yourself completely because nobody cares right now. Nobody. If you value your boat, don’t use Possum Kingdom Marine for anything.

Called around June 25th explained we would be coming to pk for the week of July 25th . Boat needed a tune and a few small fixes . Spoke to Jeremy and Barry ask if we brought boat on July 4th could they have it ready, they said it would be so we brought it from New Mexico 5 hours away and left it. On July 21st My husband called Barry and they hadn't even started on the boat . So they looked at it that day called back and said they couldn't even get the parts for four days . Well my son and his family came all the way from Seattle for the week at the lake and no boat thanks to Sandy Creek . I suggest going to someone that stands by their word. They had the boat for a month knowing my family was coming from very far away for a vacation and needed the boat but they flat lied to us. They should have told us they weren't competent enough to have it done it a month.
