Live in Salem been to four different boat shops all a joke went to Portland marine. They've got it down excellent mechanics. All their electrical work is very, very technical and professional great staff.
Called on a Friday afternoon to get some info about my tr1. Jen knew exactly what to do and what to check. My pump was bad. She let me pay over the phone and hid the part outside so I could pick it up later she was extremely helpful and the service was top notch. Very friendly staff and very knowledgeable. Highly recommended.
I just bought a new Custom Weld boat. Tom was extremely helpful - great guy! Pat, the sales manager, was very knowledgeable and gave us a good deal. They installed my chart plotter, kicker motor, and Miller Marine rail system for rod holders and other goodies. Mechanics did a good job.

Buying a boat from Portland Marine and Electronics in Clackamas, Oregon? Use this guide to evaluate any listing before you commit.
Match the boat to your waters
Pontoons and deck boats suit calm lakes. Deep-V hulls handle chop on larger lakes and coastal water. Center consoles are versatile for fishing. Ask Portland Marine and Electronics which models suit the waterways near Clackamas, Oregon.
Inspect the hull carefully
Look for stress cracks, blistering, or repairs on fiberglass hulls. Check the transom for soft spots by pressing firmly — a solid transom feels rigid. Osmotic blistering costs thousands to repair.
Check engine hours
Inboard and outboard engines are typically rated to 1,500–3,000 hours. Low-hour engines with service records are worth more. Ask to see oil change and winterization records for any boat at Portland Marine and Electronics.
Request a sea trial
Test the boat on the water before buying. Run it at full throttle. Listen for unusual noises. Check that the throttle and steering respond smoothly. Reputable dealers like Portland Marine and Electronics will accommodate this request.
Verify title and registration
Ask for the current title and confirm the hull identification number (HIN) matches. Check for any liens with your state boating agency. Portland Marine and Electronics should be able to walk you through the paperwork.
Marine financing has unique terms. Here is what to know before financing a boat through Portland Marine and Electronics in Clackamas, Oregon.
Typical Loan Terms
10 to 20 years for larger boats. Smaller boats are typically financed over 5 to 10 years.
