All of the docks are new and modern with center dividers. There are coded security gates at every entrance. Our docks also stay very well lit 365 days a year ensuring you feel safe on our docks no matter what time you choose to go out...
Populated, yet peaceful. The swimming area is like the local watering hole. (No pun intended) Everyone's usually having a good time and is respectful. The park ranger does about 300 laps per hour. And has a healthy appetite for being nosey. But he's not confrontational. Men's bathrooms don't have sinks or showers but they're clean. Overall a nice place for someone to go alone or with the family. The boat dock is like a revolving door though so it's kinda bottlenecked around the ramp/dock during prime hours.
Rented a boat and they let us fish from it and the boat has a bathroom
Took their short boat ride to Sugar Loaf Mountain Island. Crew were nice and the boat ride was fun. They had lots of boats and kayaks and all the associated gear that you could rent. Lots of fish the kids (or adults) could feed. The store had everything you needed for boating, fishing, and camping. Nice place to stop!
We had a fantastic day on the pontoon. This was the only place that had a boat large enough for our crew of 16 people. (Their boat holds 18). The kids loved the slide and jumping from the boat. Their price was quite reasonable for a full day on the water. Staff was friendly and helpful. Bathrooms at the marina were clean. We pretty much had the whole lake to ourselves since it was a Wednesday midMay. So glad we made the drive from Petit Jean State Park for this day of fun in the sun!
On the website they state you can rent a canoe on the day of, but when we walked in to rent either a boat or canoe, they told us they don’t rent anything in the afternoons. We arrived just after 1pm. 4 canoes were sitting there ready to go. Not the best customer service. Plenty of workers just standing or sitting around, which was unfortunate to see. We left and gave our money to another marina.
