I have purchased leisure and recreation vehicles in the past however Parker Boats is above and beyond the personal touch and hometown service I expect from my vehicle dealers. This family owned business offers nothing but great conversation helpful tips and putting the customer first! If you are in the market for a new boat look no further than Parker Boats in Amarillo Texas I consider driving to Oklahoma to bass pro but was able to find exactly what I wanted here with better service and a great parts and mechanics department. Do not come in contact with the owner... Went in to purchase new prop and was questioned as to why I did not purchase our boat from them. In fact, we did try and purchase a boat from Parker- was never greeted. Customer service went down hill from there. We've been purchasing parts and accessories for years from Parker mixed in with a couple of winterizations, NEVER been treated so poorly. However, we will not be back. We shouldn't have went back this time but we have always had A+ customer service from the Service Dept. Seems to me the owner should be taking notes on how to treat customers from his employees.
My overall buying experience at this place was much better than expected, especially after reading several negative reviews on different sites. Staff and owners were pleasant to deal with and I got the impression of a professional dealership. In contrast to some of the other reviews, they did adjust the pricing of the boat to my needs. Yes, there were some things I wasn’t too happy with, but they were partially on me. Had a fish finder and rod holder installed while I was there. Great and quick service for someone coming from out of state. The price of the fish finder was way over the top, but the convenience was well worth it to me. When I took out the boat for the 1st time, I received a message that the sonar was disconnected. After some trouble shooting, I realized that the plug was misaligned by 90 degrees. Prepping the boat for a long-distance transport (about 183 miles) should be a practice that is automatic. Had to ask to get the tire pressure checked and pulled over before leaving Amarillo to secure loose items. I did not care for their handling of the paperwork after the sale. Bought the boat 26 June and the shipping label for the paperwork/title was created on 8 July. With the 4th of July week between there, it was understandable to me. What I could not understand, was that the paperwork was not dropped off at USPS until the 18th of July. My buying experience at this place was great overall even though they did not even offer me something to drink (whiskey and coke would have been my preference, but a water or soda could have done the job too…lol).
