We rented a boat for the first time. It was unforgettable, we loved it. Very friendly staff and good rental rates. We made the right choice and we will be back.
July 8th I rented a boat that was supposed to allow a ski rope. On July 30th I get an email confirming my rental for the 31st of a "no tow" boat. I immediately called and was basically told that I must have messed up when I rented online. I asked if I could be accommodated and at first was told no because there were no "tow" boats available. Later, I got a call back that said a boat had just been turned in that we could rent. Sounds good. When we get to the marina it comes out that I had rented a boat like we wanted but the tow bar/ pole/ whatever had been damaged when a previous renter drove it under the Hwy 49 bridge. So they "bait and switched" us to another boat .. bad business!! Also, the boat we rented had numerous issues: The back ladder was missing a bolt and could not be used, the speedometer did not work, the trim gauge did not work, a bracket holding the front passenger glass was broken so the glass bounced the whole time, the bimini top had a broken part so only 3 of the 4 poles could be used correctly; they gave me zip ties to attach the 4th. The ties promptly broke when boat went in motion. So we spent most of the day with the top down and in the way; such a hassle. For the premium price we paid we expect much better; the deceitfulness on the boat switcharoo is unethical to say the least.
BUYER BEWARE! Bought a $65,000 used boat from these guys and was told a very small tube weld was needed to fix a minor leak before I could take delivery. They said it was handled, but after one day on the water the entire left tube was full and the boat was tilted sideways. $1,000 later, their botched job has been properly repaired. I'm sure they can't screw up on a new boat, but I wouldn't trust them on anything used!!!
