My wife and I have been customers of Marine Max for almost 3 years. We bought a small 19ft and quickly realized how much we loved boating, so we traded in and got a 25ft bowrider. Both times we used Patrick Lhota. He truly goes out of his way to help find you exactly what you are looking for. It is even nice that he stays in contact after the purchase is complete to answer questions, give advice, etc. Buying from him/Marine Max truly is a better experience as it’s not like, “oh here are your keys, good luck”. On the day you take ownership they hire a captain to take you out and show you all the stuff about your boat, and if you’re not familiar with the area you will be boating, the captain will teach you about the water. It’s a very first-time-boater friendly marina. It took about a week from signing the paperwork, to getting the boat up here from Florida, to take ownership after they did their checks—a great turnaround time for us since we are limited in our season because of NJ weather. I do want to note that financing is tricky if you intend to use your own bank. Marine Max (as a company) does not give outside banks the invoice they need to run their own loan estimates. In order to get around this, you’ll have to put down a substantial down payment to offset the bank’s risk.
I would not buy any boat associated with Matt at this Marina. I just had the worst boat buying experience of a lifetime. This guy is negligent and not truthful at all. Stay Away!
We've been customers of MarineMax Somers Point for over 20 years. This is the third boat (John Olson - we miss him!) we've purchased. Early on the service was ok. Today, service is extraordinary - so much so that I felt compelled to write. Service has taken great care to make sure our 250SLX operates like new and takes great pains to ensure that any issues (including minor issues) are resolved promptly. I've run my boat over to MarineMax for a couple issues in the last 6 months; a tech has met me at the dock, resolved the issue and I'm back on the water with my family in no time. Although I've been happy with all members of the service team, Charlie deserves specific mention. He responds quickly to emails or calls with great advice and action - things get done right. I am very happy with Charlie and the entire service team at MarineMax.
Marine Max Somers Point. They are there when you need them. When your boat breaks or you need any kind of service their service department is THE BEST. Last week Saturday, it's cold and rainy, My boat was in dry dock for the winter and a prospective buyer called for a sea trial. Ugg! These guys were in the process of closing that day for the holiday. They hauled the boat from Mays Landing, got it ready, took the guy for a sea trial, hauled it, made a couple repairs. When you need them they are there. Thank you Carl and Charlie, and the entire Marine Max Service team.
If your in the market for a boat, MarineMax in Somers Point, NJ is the ONLY place to go! My husband and I were looking for a boat last year and our salesman Chip Weidemann spent days and weeks helping us. We never felt pressured and he never made us feel like we were wasting his time. We left without buying a boat because we couldn’t find the right boat and the timing for us was not right. We went back to Chip this April, found the right boat for a great price and bought our perfect boat. Everyone at Marine Max was professional, accommodating, helpful and patient.
