What a great experience. I had the privilege of working with John Powell on the purchase of our 2018 Monterey 238SS. From start to finish the level of knowledge and professionalism was easily a 10/10. Not only was all our question answered but a considerable amount of time was spent helping us find the right boat that fit our families mission. At no time did we feel rushed or pressured and to be quite honest we enjoyed this buying experience. Even after purchase I'm still getting random questions answered that sometimes you don't think of until post purchase. This is a great company with great people from top to bottom. Id also like to give a shout out to Thiea Wellborn, the business manager who also helped us with finance options, extended warranty questions and insurance coverages. She spent a great deal of time explaining all our options and warranty coverages leaving us with no concerns with a used boat. Last but not least Id like to mention the quality of the boat. A 2018, a 7 year old boat. I was nervous about this. After reading all the things that the service department did to get this boat to a point where they felt comfortable putting their reputation on the line to sale it to us, again, I left there feeling 100% at ease. Purchased used GW Freedom 275 from the store listed by the saleman who orginally sold the boat. It was now a brokered listing. Had survey done with salesman operating vessel the whole sea trial. Came back good so then we did a sea trial. Drove 6.5 hours for the sea trial and saleman was 35 min late. On sea trial, (the 6 min sea trial) we were not allowed to operate vessel. Per surveyor and us, we purchased and hired MM Pensacola service install $12,000 worth of brand new electronics after verifying any MM dealer could fix any problems should they arise due to install or problems. We took delivery of boat, launched boat and immediately both engines went up when throttles engaged into forward gear. Reverse its fine. And yes, if you keep your thumb on the down button they will stay down until you release down button. 2 weeks later still no answer on fixing boat and still cant use. Good times

Just completed the purchase of a 2018 Grady White 375 freedom with John Powell. Not sure if he is related to Jerome Powell or not but if so perhaps he can persuade him to lower interest rates a bit so I can afford a bigger boat next year.;). I purchased from Canada entirely over the phone and over the Internet and John was super, super helpful and worked with me patiently. He was very upfront about the history of the boat and shared with me the survey that Marine Max had completed on it and all/any relevant repairs that have been done. He even tracked down the original dealer that sold the boat. John took the time to take videos of every inch of the hull and the motors etc. He also negotiated a very fair price with management, arranged for deliver to Miami and even helped me with insurance. Awesome dude. Lots of integrity. Give this guy a raise MarineMax. Overall a great experience with John and I highly recommend him to others.
