Buying a boat from Loves Park Motorsports in Roscoe, Illinois? Use this guide to evaluate any listing before you commit.
Match the boat to your waters
Pontoons and deck boats suit calm lakes. Deep-V hulls handle chop on larger lakes and coastal water. Center consoles are versatile for fishing. Ask Loves Park Motorsports which models suit the waterways near Roscoe, Illinois.
Inspect the hull carefully
Look for stress cracks, blistering, or repairs on fiberglass hulls. Check the transom for soft spots by pressing firmly — a solid transom feels rigid. Osmotic blistering costs thousands to repair.
Check engine hours
Inboard and outboard engines are typically rated to 1,500–3,000 hours. Low-hour engines with service records are worth more. Ask to see oil change and winterization records for any boat at Loves Park Motorsports.
Request a sea trial
Test the boat on the water before buying. Run it at full throttle. Listen for unusual noises. Check that the throttle and steering respond smoothly. Reputable dealers like Loves Park Motorsports will accommodate this request.
Verify title and registration
Ask for the current title and confirm the hull identification number (HIN) matches. Check for any liens with your state boating agency. Loves Park Motorsports should be able to walk you through the paperwork.
Marine financing has unique terms. Here is what to know before financing a boat through Loves Park Motorsports in Roscoe, Illinois.
Typical Loan Terms
10 to 20 years for larger boats. Smaller boats are typically financed over 5 to 10 years.

I want to give a huge thank you to Dave and Don from Loves Park Motorsports! Their customer service, and willingness to go above and beyond is something we don’t see often these days. I had my boat there for a new troller install and Mega 360. While cutting out the floor for my pedal, the carpet caught the saw blade and started to unravel. Instead of just patching it, Dave contacted Ranger and had the exact color of my carpet shipped and replaced the entire bow with brand new carpet, including the lids to the compartments. Their quality of work, attention to detail, and turnaround times are amazing!!! If you are looking to get work done to your boat, I highly recommend them! They have gained a lifelong customer and I can’t say enough good things about them!! Thank you Dave and Don for excellent service and craftsmanship!! Chris Tierney
