So, i purchased a 2006 Boston Whaler 150, I got a good deal on it , so i new it would need a ton of work. I grew up in Upper Saddle River and always saw the Lima and Sons shop there on Rt 17. I decided to pay them a visit. Serg and his son were really helpful and explained what my best options were (to get the boat back on the water). My objective was to replace as much of the older parts with new oem parts (regardless of weather they were bad or not). While in the shop, they provided updates on the the current condition of the boat as well as the progress of work. They always gave me the best options to not strap me on the cost. They did a lot of work to my boat, so the turn around time for completion was a few weeks. They also took care of getting my trailer in shape (bearings, wheels, etc). Once back in the water, we started approaching the colder months and it was time to winterize and they took care of everything. Also, I needed a boat cover as my garage was not prepped for boat storage yet. I asked them to price me out. They came back with the cost of ordering one, but also provided me an option to purchase one that was already in their shop. The cover was brand new and they gave it to me at a fraction of the cost of a new one. Every time i go into the shop, I never get a bad attitude and they have always been a pleasure to do business with. I could go somewhere else, but the Lima and Sons experience seems very personal, and I just feel like they treat you like family... I guess that is the reason they have been there so long. Anyway, i thought this write up was overdue. I will always bring my boat to Lima and Sons. ...and thx for all the knowledge and help... A+++ Rob
Once again Lima & Sons came through for us at the last minute. We recently sold our boat (to get a bigger one!) but wanted to make sure the trailer was safe and the engine running well for the new buyer. Mike as always went above and beyond to adjust and fix the trailer and then fixed the engine to run more efficiently. The turnaround time was quick and communication was efficient. Even in a pinch, they have always been able to help me out and accommodate my boating needs. I use Lima and Sons to service, repair, winterize, wrap, and store my 25 foot boat. Buyer beware. Very good at covering their own interests at the expense of yours, all the while making you feel like they care about you. Giving 2 stars because the engine is good as is the hull. Only 2 because extremely disappointed with how my boat purchase went, and the lack of attention to obvious details, while assuring me that the boat would be pristine when taking possession. All talk, little action.
