Buying a boat from Lighthouse Harbor Marina in Greentown, Pennsylvania? Use this guide to evaluate any listing before you commit.
Match the boat to your waters
Pontoons and deck boats suit calm lakes. Deep-V hulls handle chop on larger lakes and coastal water. Center consoles are versatile for fishing. Ask Lighthouse Harbor Marina which models suit the waterways near Greentown, Pennsylvania.
Inspect the hull carefully
Look for stress cracks, blistering, or repairs on fiberglass hulls. Check the transom for soft spots by pressing firmly — a solid transom feels rigid. Osmotic blistering costs thousands to repair.
Check engine hours
Inboard and outboard engines are typically rated to 1,500–3,000 hours. Low-hour engines with service records are worth more. Ask to see oil change and winterization records for any boat at Lighthouse Harbor Marina.
Request a sea trial
Test the boat on the water before buying. Run it at full throttle. Listen for unusual noises. Check that the throttle and steering respond smoothly. Reputable dealers like Lighthouse Harbor Marina will accommodate this request.
Verify title and registration
Ask for the current title and confirm the hull identification number (HIN) matches. Check for any liens with your state boating agency. Lighthouse Harbor Marina should be able to walk you through the paperwork.
Marine financing has unique terms. Here is what to know before financing a boat through Lighthouse Harbor Marina in Greentown, Pennsylvania.

10 to 20 years for larger boats. Smaller boats are typically financed over 5 to 10 years.

They rent boats and store boats for members. Dock was in good shape, and the slips were plenty large enough to accommodate the type of boats and pontoom boats that populate the lake. I didn't see a restaurant, but their store had plenty of boating gear and even a few hoodies and sweatshirts, though they didn't have many large or XL inventory, or I'd have bought something.
Currently storing my 31' foot Formula SR1 there. Chris and the staff are extremely helpful and accommodating. I have been a rental customer for many years and never have had bad experience. I highly recommend them for any of your boating/watersport needs. Jim D
My wife and I purchased a second home at Lake Wallenpaupack in 2021. We were put on the waiting list for a dock in our development (normal proceedure) but did not want to wait to get a boat and get out on the water. Thankfully Lighthouse is right across from our development and we were able to purchase a boat and secure a slip for the season. Working with Rich in sales was easy. We found a boat that fit our needs in the showroom. Purchase was easy, and all done primarily online. We have a great slip, and any warranty and set up issues were handled by Dave in the shop. Every person we have encountered from the staff, to the people on our dock have been friendly and welcoming making our transition to "lake life" a pleasurable one. I would recommend Lighthouse Marina for all your boating needs.

The staff at lighthouse is great and more than helpful. My starter failed after fueling up. My truck and trailer was parked at another marina. The GM personally drove me to get my truck and his team helped me manually load my boat on to the trailer. A big thank you to the lighthouse harbor marina staff.
