The at Lafayette Power Sports did a very good job at getting me on the bike of my choice. They didn't have what I wanted in stock but went above and beyond to find it for me. Overall it was an easy buying experience. They did a good job!
The only one who knows what’s happening at this place is the owner. He took his time with me and is very knowledgeable. He is greatly challenged with his staff. No one knows about warranty… given run around. The woman in service is just terribly rude. Her communication is terrible both written and oral. Service dept had boat two weeks and was pulling at straws to decipher… made inaccurate warranty claim. Service dept is face of the business and the one he has now will surely destroy him. They lost a potential new customer… I’ll drive my boat hours away from now on before I’ll ever deal with them again.
Horrible after the sale service. They put my windshield on and tightened the bolts to tight causing cracks all the way around my glass My seats are all coming apart also stripped out my oil plug when I brought it in for a service. Put my doors on wrong causing them not to close right.. The day I took it home, my roof came off because they never bolted it down and tried to tell me that I must’ve been driving too fast.. I should’ve learned my lesson the first time I purchased a bike from them.. It definitely want be a 3rd time..
Had a programming issue with my brand new can am commander, purchased the day before. After getting the run around from the delivering dealership, I BRP customer care and advised that I could take my unit to the nearest dealer and it was a simple fix. I spoke to Rhyanna at Lafayette Power Sports over the phone and she told me to be it in now. Upon arriving Rhyanna sent Technician Jack out. He resolved the issue in less than two minutes. I didn’t even have to unload my machine and fixed my issue at no charge. Jack stated that the seller should have corrected this prior to delivering the unit. They have earned my future needs at Lafayette Power Sports. Thanks so much for your assistance.
Brought SXS in due to it overheating. When we got there we were told we didn't have an appointment, maybe I made the app at the other location. Long story short, I did have an appointment that day (it was a rescheduled appointment from early June). After explaining the problem it was suggested that we do a full service since it hadn't been done in at least a year (bought bike 2nd hand). Fine, that seemed to be a better deal (at the time). Fast forward 2 days, our $600 service turned into an $800 which then turned into a $900 service when we to pick up the bike. The service worker was beyond rude with the worst attitude! Refused to give an itemized bill until AFTER we paid. Then was told our bike had been sunk. That bike has NEVER been through water. Its used for deer hunting (even by the previous owner). We were looking to buy another SXS but after that experience Lafayette power sports will never get another penny from us and I DO NOT recommend them.

Buying a boat from Lafayette Powersports in Lafayette, Louisiana? Use this guide to evaluate any listing before you commit.
Match the boat to your waters
Pontoons and deck boats suit calm lakes. Deep-V hulls handle chop on larger lakes and coastal water. Center consoles are versatile for fishing. Ask Lafayette Powersports which models suit the waterways near Lafayette, Louisiana.
Inspect the hull carefully
Look for stress cracks, blistering, or repairs on fiberglass hulls. Check the transom for soft spots by pressing firmly — a solid transom feels rigid. Osmotic blistering costs thousands to repair.
Check engine hours
Inboard and outboard engines are typically rated to 1,500–3,000 hours. Low-hour engines with service records are worth more. Ask to see oil change and winterization records for any boat at Lafayette Powersports.
Request a sea trial
Test the boat on the water before buying. Run it at full throttle. Listen for unusual noises. Check that the throttle and steering respond smoothly. Reputable dealers like Lafayette Powersports will accommodate this request.
Verify title and registration
Ask for the current title and confirm the hull identification number (HIN) matches. Check for any liens with your state boating agency. Lafayette Powersports should be able to walk you through the paperwork.
