We just bought a new pontoon boat from J & J Marine. They are a friendly, knowledgeable family run business. This is our first boat and, after delivering the boat to our lake they spent the time giving us a primer on how to operate and drive our boat. Best of all, they beat the price on a comparable boat from one of the big dealers by a fair amount. Will definitely recommend them to any friends or acquaintances looking for a new boat. This is a follow up review (given May 20, 2022) to the above review we left two years ago. Had a bad spark plug on our Suzuki outboard. I asked Travis if it would be possible to send someone to our house to replace the spark plugs and show me how to do it so I could do it myself in the future. Although I do not believe that J & J normally makes house calls, he arranged for one of his technicians to stop over after delivering a boat to another customer. Eric was very friendly and was very quick in replacing the spark plugs and showing me how to do it. Best of all, we had an unexpected downpour and got soaked to the skin, but that didn't slow Eric down at all. Thanks again to Travis and Eric - I still think that J & J is a 5 star local business.
I would highly recommend J&J Marine. I have been in there numerous times for service and smaller items. Everyone is always very knowledgeable and helpful. We traded in our old boat this spring and purchased a new Alumacraft boat from J&J Marine. Travis made every aspect from the initial talks to the setup of all the accessories completely painless. He was upfront and honest about pricing and timing throughout the process. Again, I would highly recommend J&J marine.
I usually winterize my outboards myself but thought this year I would have it done. I looked around the area and spoke with and emailed several dealers. One didn't even answer the phone or return my call (I left a voice mail in the service dept) and only one responded to email and another Dealer's service department had to "walk out front" to see what price was posted. So when I gave J&J a call they immediately gave me a pretty accurate quote and said to bring the pontoon by anytime. I brought it the same afternoon just before they closed and they said it would be done in 3-4 days. So I was surprised when I got a call by 11 AM the next morning letting me know they were done and the price was the best of the quotes I got from other dealers. They did say it doesn't always get done that fast but it impressed me. This is my first experience with J&J and I am thinking I don't want to mess with winterizing myself anymore. I will just let the experts at J&J do it for me from now on. Thanks guys.
