We had a very bumpy, inconsistent experience with Gordy's. We had to have our new-to-us boat towed the third trip out due to an issue which should have been caught on inspection. The initial sales experience was wonderful - Molly was attentive, comprehensive and made sure our boat even had thorough drive-train inspection and a gimbal bearing replacement. Unfortunately, she and the rest of the Oconomowoc sales team were laid off in the early spring and things went downhill from there. When we approached Gordy's in the spring to coordinate delivery, communications were very difficult and inconsistent. It took many repetitive texts to get answers to basic answers - what address the boat was at, was it ready for pickup, etc. After we ironed all that out, the boat was still delivered with a leaking fuel sender, a missing spare tire, no anchor or bumpers, and missing service documentation. Most of those issues were pretty minor, but the leaking fuel sender resulted in gas in our bilge which caused us to have the boat towed home the night of our first fuel-up. (I believe Gordy's did credit us a small amount for the missing spare tire, which was appreciated.) While the boat was used, we paid "high retail" for it and I expected a much better, more consistent experience at that price point.
We had a less than acceptable experience with Gordy’s considering the cost of our new surfboat. The boat was delivered to us completely unprepared. Dirty (grease footprints on the interior leather) dings in the surf gate, parts missing from the Bimini. Multiple people’s iPhones programmed into the boat. The surf gate malfunctioned on our test drive back to our dock. Depth gauge not working. Ballast not filling correctly. One disaster after another. Asked the service department to make it right by installing/discounting a camera for our inconvenience. Ball dropped. Will not be buying another boat from here.
Teo replaced the transom on my boat. He was awesome. I couldn't ask for better service. This guy took the time to answer all my questions, did the work for much less than I was quoted elsewhere, and made sure my boat ran properly before returning it. I will definitely be returning to Gordy's for everything I need in the future.
I had the pleasure of working with Bill and Molly from the Oconomowoc location. They made the experience of purchasing a boat better than I have experienced in buying anything. They have paid attention not only to the small details, but the post service of the transaction has been just outstanding. They have made me a customer for life.
