Welcome to our website. Gagnon's Boats & Motors Inc. was founded by "Big Bump" John Gagnon in 1945, then known as John's Outboards. John's was located in New Auburn and in 1960 John sold the business. John couldn't sit still and started looking for a place to start a new business. Grandfather (John) couldn't open a business within 30 miles of John's Outboards, which is how we ended up in Livermore Falls. Big Bump (John) opened Gagnon's Boats & Motors Company in 1960 and operated out of the old Bessy's Vingar Building which is now used for boat storage.
I have high praise for Gagnon's Boats! I own a boat but am not well versed in taking care of one. Kurt was extremely patient and professional helping me get my boat ready for the water last Spring and recently with winterizing it. He gave options, offered suggestions and was extremely accomodating with drop off and pick up.
Kurt and the rest of his team at Gagnon Boats & Motors did a great job at setting up and delivering our new pontoon boat. The Gagnon team also brought us out on the lake for an initial shake down cruise and to familiarize us with the boats operation and performance. The team was very knowledgeable, courteous and polite. We were trying to bring a 1987 Grady White back to life and after a horrible experience at another boat yard where we were left with a gas leaking boat that wasn't ready for the water. We decided to try Gagnon's. Customer service was great. Options for repairs were explained. When they found something else wrong they let me know the cost before fixing. They returned calls, provided updates and now boat is cruising around nicely and the fish are scared. :-) Thank You!
Since it is an inboard, for service, I had always taken my boat to the dealership where I purchased it despite the fact that it was over two hours away. The dealership was sold and I was not pleased with the quality of service I received from the new owners. I therefore stated to look around for a dealership in central Maine to service my boat. I went to almost every one I could find and they either would only service boats that they sold or they had never serviced an inboard before. I finally contacted Gagnon boats and went in to speak with Kirk. I immediately felt I had made the right decision. This is a family owned business that still understands what service means. I had a few things that needed replacing and even the Malibu factory had been unable to get the parts I needed. Within a few days Kirk had found replacement parts and had them shipped. Allen the mechanic who worked on the boat, treated it like it was his own. He took the boat in when they said they would an had it done when he said it would be. Everything was done exactly as promised and there were no “surprise “ additional repairs or expenses we get used to seeing at other dealers. I would highly recommend Gagnon Boats to anyone who is looking to buy a boat or wants the highest quality service on their current boat. I have nothing but positive things to say about this organization.
