Welcome to Freedom Boat Club – Boating Made Simple® Freedom Boat Club was first founded in 1989 in Sarasota, FL. It is the oldest and largest boat club in the nation. The vision and purpose in establishing the boat club model was simple and straightforward - to deliver a hassle-free recreational boating experience for its members.
Want to have a boat without the responsibilities? Freedom Boat club is for you. Deck hands make it simple. Quality training gives you the confidence to have the boat life. Want to see more than your local lake and rivers without the expense or stress of trailering a boat? Freedom boat club works. In a week, we took a boat in Muskegon, a trip down the Milwaukee River and a cruise in the Oshkosh lakes. Want the flexibility of a boat? Freedom is for you. I've taken fishing boats, pontoons, sea rays, Bayliner and center consoles and even a slidetoon. All less than 2 years old. No worries about life jackets, lines or bumpers.
Owned a couple of WellCrafts for 25 years. Was sick of the time spent cleaning and maintaining it. Also racked up huge repair bills on the 2nd one which was trailered. Freedom BC is hassle free and all you pay for is gas. Highly recommend to all. Where else can you drive new boats every year.
Freedom Boat Club is the best value in boating, providing only top notch service to the clubs members. This club stands out in service. The events that they plan & host are the best part. Joining the club enhanced my boating experience in a way that I didn’t know was possible.
Used a reciprocal reservation here as our home club is in Dallas. It was super easy to set up and the workers were so helpful in making sure I felt comfortable with the area before heading out. Great staff and location! Beautiful clear lake.
For anyone considering to join, we were skeptical at first but so glad we did it. The time we have gotten to go boating with friends and family is priceless, saw parts of Michigan we have never seen before as well as other states ( dolphins.) Have boated in 5 other states. We take out kids tubing and fishing and do NOT have to play around with boat maintenance. Some people say expensive, but consider all the things you can do with it. Our friends love going boating with us

Buying a boat from Freedom Boat Club Lake St. Clair in Harrison Township, Michigan? Use this guide to evaluate any listing before you commit.
Match the boat to your waters
Pontoons and deck boats suit calm lakes. Deep-V hulls handle chop on larger lakes and coastal water. Center consoles are versatile for fishing. Ask Freedom Boat Club Lake St. Clair which models suit the waterways near Harrison Township, Michigan.
Inspect the hull carefully
Look for stress cracks, blistering, or repairs on fiberglass hulls. Check the transom for soft spots by pressing firmly — a solid transom feels rigid. Osmotic blistering costs thousands to repair.
Check engine hours
Inboard and outboard engines are typically rated to 1,500–3,000 hours. Low-hour engines with service records are worth more. Ask to see oil change and winterization records for any boat at Freedom Boat Club Lake St. Clair.
Request a sea trial
Test the boat on the water before buying. Run it at full throttle. Listen for unusual noises. Check that the throttle and steering respond smoothly. Reputable dealers like Freedom Boat Club Lake St. Clair will accommodate this request.
Verify title and registration
Ask for the current title and confirm the hull identification number (HIN) matches. Check for any liens with your state boating agency. Freedom Boat Club Lake St. Clair should be able to walk you through the paperwork.
