Buying a boat from Dells Watersports in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin? Use this guide to evaluate any listing before you commit.
Match the boat to your waters
Pontoons and deck boats suit calm lakes. Deep-V hulls handle chop on larger lakes and coastal water. Center consoles are versatile for fishing. Ask Dells Watersports which models suit the waterways near Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin.
Inspect the hull carefully
Look for stress cracks, blistering, or repairs on fiberglass hulls. Check the transom for soft spots by pressing firmly — a solid transom feels rigid. Osmotic blistering costs thousands to repair.
Check engine hours
Inboard and outboard engines are typically rated to 1,500–3,000 hours. Low-hour engines with service records are worth more. Ask to see oil change and winterization records for any boat at Dells Watersports.
Request a sea trial
Test the boat on the water before buying. Run it at full throttle. Listen for unusual noises. Check that the throttle and steering respond smoothly. Reputable dealers like Dells Watersports will accommodate this request.
Verify title and registration
Ask for the current title and confirm the hull identification number (HIN) matches. Check for any liens with your state boating agency. Dells Watersports should be able to walk you through the paperwork.

I had the best experience working with James. No pressure sales straight up front, honest negotiating. The service department is top-notch, they added the things that I requested for the boat, they checked everything over for me, they went above and beyond. I highly recommend Dell’s water sports for your next boating purchase.
Great experience renting a pontoon for a group of 12 people at the Dells. The boat has plenty of room and a Bluetooth connection so you can listen to some music with your group. They also have a lily pad that stretches out into the water for folks that are interested in taking a swim on the lake. They can also accommodate dogs. Overall, a great time.
Had our annual pontoon day last weekend. The staff is great! The only downfall...the restroom availability, or lack of, when at the shop. Got back to shore and there were over a dozen people waiting to use the only two restrooms available. They also serve as 'changing rooms' so...UGH!!
What an amazing experience on Mirror Lake. My friends and I went out for a Cinco De Mayo Paddle and we had THEE best time. The kayaks and canoes were clean, well maintained and the staff was over the top! The lake offers peace and tranquility and it is the perfect way to spend the day. The rental prices were fair and the boats were right next to the waterfront so it made it easy to load and unload from the water. Wonderful experience and 5 star review all of the way!
Had a great experience renting the deluxe speed boat. The girl on the phone was very nice and patient when I called. My phone service was bad that day and kept cutting out. Then they were very busy and nice when I got there. The kid helping check the boat before going out was very good and the boats are very nice and have good power. Will definitely use them when we go back to the Dells in the future!
