Buying a boat from Crowe Marine in Eatonton, Georgia? Use this guide to evaluate any listing before you commit.
Match the boat to your waters
Pontoons and deck boats suit calm lakes. Deep-V hulls handle chop on larger lakes and coastal water. Center consoles are versatile for fishing. Ask Crowe Marine which models suit the waterways near Eatonton, Georgia.
Inspect the hull carefully
Look for stress cracks, blistering, or repairs on fiberglass hulls. Check the transom for soft spots by pressing firmly — a solid transom feels rigid. Osmotic blistering costs thousands to repair.
Check engine hours
Inboard and outboard engines are typically rated to 1,500–3,000 hours. Low-hour engines with service records are worth more. Ask to see oil change and winterization records for any boat at Crowe Marine.
Request a sea trial
Test the boat on the water before buying. Run it at full throttle. Listen for unusual noises. Check that the throttle and steering respond smoothly. Reputable dealers like Crowe Marine will accommodate this request.
Verify title and registration
Ask for the current title and confirm the hull identification number (HIN) matches. Check for any liens with your state boating agency. Crowe Marine should be able to walk you through the paperwork.
Marine financing has unique terms. Here is what to know before financing a boat through Crowe Marine in Eatonton, Georgia.
Typical Loan Terms
10 to 20 years for larger boats. Smaller boats are typically financed over 5 to 10 years.
Down Payment
10% to 20% is standard. Some lenders require more for older vessels.

We recently purchased a Robalo center console boat from Crowe Marine, and the entire experience was outstanding. Will Peters provided exceptional service from start to finish—knowledgeable, responsive, and completely committed to making sure we got the right boat for our needs. Will answered all of our questions, guided us through the features and options, and made the buying process smooth and stress-free. His professionalism and attention to detail gave us full confidence in our purchase. The team at Crowe Marine clearly cares about their customers, and it showed in every interaction. We couldn’t be happier with our Robalo or the service we received. Highly recommend Crowe Marine—and especially Will Peters—to anyone in the market for a new boat!
Purchased a 2024 22L Tri-Toon a week ago from this company. Will was our salesperson. I was nervous about buying a boat. It’s been 20 plus years of owning one. Will went out of his way on customer service. This guy truly loves his job. The customers and the water. I can’t honestly say I have had this type of experience in a long time. He took me and my wife on his off day on the lake for several hours. Showed us all the features and what to look out for. Also showed us around the lake. We were new to that area. He wanted this to be the best experience for us. Best by far customer service by Will. He is not scared to give you his cell. He will call and help you after hours. True dedication. I will not go anywhere else for my boat needs. Thank you will for making this such a pleasure. Yes you were awesome to Keith,😂. Great Team there. This place was a pleasure doing business with.
This is one of the most helpful and well balance family business and staffs. They sell top of the line merchandise and is very curious to everyone needs. I was in there buying boat cleaning supplies and showed him pics of all the boat that I clean on Lake Oconee that was purchased from Crowe. Then the he asked me if I would be willing to come clean some of they boats at the shop. So if you have something broken on your boat or just want a upgrade or new one go check them out first. If my information was helpful please like my review.
I am a new boater and have recently stopped by Crowe Marine. Recently, I walked in and didn't realized they had closed. But without missing a beat a lady who was in an office came out and still helped me and allowed me to make a couple of purchases. The next day I stopped in to get a prop. I had no idea about props. The guys started asking questions and putting up with me constantly saying "I don't know." But finally they found what they thought was the right prop. I took it home and followed their instructions and a few minutes later I had a working prop. Great service all times I have been in there!
Go see Crowe Marine for your next boat and/or if you need any service work. Keith was amazing to work with on the purchase of my first boat. The service team with Jacob and Fred are on top of their game too!
