i purchased a avid 16 commander from chewalla marine thats owned by gll. there is one salesman that over sees boat sales at both dealers. this has been the worst sales experience to deal with. only three dealers in the southeast has these boats in stock they was the closest. i gave doug a fair shot first because i had talk to him first. the other dealers was willing to order the interior mat for the boat and have it done with in a week but i had already spoken with doug and made a deal with him. i constantly had to call him for updates asking about the paper work and the boat it was always a excuse or this or that or i forgot. the day i met doug at chewalla to pick it up that boat was missing the transom saver and tie downs, there was no fuel in the boat it had not been run prior to me coming. i had to go to the nearest gas station get gas and make him go to the nearest boat ramp to prime the motor and get it fired up. after having the boat for two days i went thru the boat making sure everything was working. i found the battery terminals loose, boat did not perform like it should and the boat was taking on excessive amounts of water. i reached out about the performance issue was told "thats just what the boat came with" and then asking about the concern about the water coming in the boat he would reach out to the factory about the issue. if your looking for great service and communication i def would avoid this marina at all cost.
Recently rented their 25 foot pontoon boat with a 90 hp for my Dad’s birthday and we had a blast on lake Eufaula!! I WILL ALWAYS HIGHLY RECOMMEND Chewalla creek marina to anyone, plus they’ve got any tackle you need in the store front!
The staff is friendly and helpful at this marina and their tackle shop is excellent if you are a bass fishing. Their docks are clean and well maintained.
I like to go out on the water a couple times of year. I found that instead of buying a boat, just rent one. Chewalla Creek Marina is my favorite place to rent a boat. The staff in this place is super friendly, they ask about your day, give you a little advice, and do a good job of making sure everything is satisfactory. We rented a pontoon on 4/26/25 and the two guys that were working in here we super awesome. I love this place. They also have a nice selection of bait, tackle, and gear.
Stopped in before our tournament and was met by the nicest staff ever in a bait and tackle shop. The amount of tackle was the best I have seen. Everything was organized and easy to find. Will definitely come back next time I’m in the area. Highly recommended.
