Buying a boat from Chaparral Boats , Inc. in Nashville, Georgia? Use this guide to evaluate any listing before you commit.
Match the boat to your waters
Pontoons and deck boats suit calm lakes. Deep-V hulls handle chop on larger lakes and coastal water. Center consoles are versatile for fishing. Ask Chaparral Boats , Inc. which models suit the waterways near Nashville, Georgia.
Inspect the hull carefully
Look for stress cracks, blistering, or repairs on fiberglass hulls. Check the transom for soft spots by pressing firmly — a solid transom feels rigid. Osmotic blistering costs thousands to repair.
Check engine hours
Inboard and outboard engines are typically rated to 1,500–3,000 hours. Low-hour engines with service records are worth more. Ask to see oil change and winterization records for any boat at Chaparral Boats , Inc..
Request a sea trial
Test the boat on the water before buying. Run it at full throttle. Listen for unusual noises. Check that the throttle and steering respond smoothly. Reputable dealers like Chaparral Boats , Inc. will accommodate this request.
Verify title and registration
Ask for the current title and confirm the hull identification number (HIN) matches. Check for any liens with your state boating agency. Chaparral Boats , Inc. should be able to walk you through the paperwork.

Chaparral has been building quality family boats since 1965. Founded in Fort Lauderdale, Florida - Chaparral has called Nashville, Georgia home since 1976. Encompassing over 1 million square feet of manufacturing facilities, we are one of South Georgia's largest employers with a full time roster of over 800 employees. Building high quality boats is still a process completed by hand by skilled craftsmen. At Chaparral, many of our builders are second or third generation boat builders that take personal pride in every boat they build.
Bought a brand new 2023 chaparral 287ssx. doing my first major cleaning on the boat I pulled out the sea decking Mats and discovered my deck finish was bad with holes in the finish. After going back and forth with my dealership and corporate about the poor manufactured deck chaparral basically told me “no it’s normal part of the boat manufacturing process and won’t be covered under warranty”. Which as you can see by the pictures is pretty unbelievable that they expect people to believe this is normal for a 250k boat. Among the many other problems I’ve had with it, this one takes the cake. And chaparral don’t care, their quality has gone downhill and they don’t warranty their product. Avoid them at all cost, they will screw you like they screwed me. My entire deck has spots all over it like this.
We purchased a new 250 OSX a couple months ago. I am quite pleased with the boat thus far and it handles very well for its size. It’s comfortable and so far everything we hoped it would be.
Good place for Truck Driver friendly people they start unloading 6am ,you can spend night at the gate and some spots for overnight parking before gate
Bought a 2023 Wakesurf and have had nothing but problems, from the electronics, cruise control, engine, you name it. Has left me stranded in the water multiple times. Still having problems with the boat. Called Chaparral and they assured me a customer service rep. would call me back....never happened. This boat wouldn't even make a good boat anchor at this point.
I bought a brand new 2019 chaparral 23 surf in 2019 and it has been nothing but problems. I take it to the dealer to have it fixed and they have never fixed the problems. They just keep putting Band-Aids on them. Do not buy chaparral not worth the money. It’s been several years now my boating seasons, only six months and two months of the season. It is in the shop do not buy chaparral.
