I purchased a 2004 Monterey 248 from Jeff about a month ago. I've been boating on LKN since 2019 and I can honestly say I've never had as much fun with my other two boats than I have with the boat Jeff sold me. I looked at other boats prior, and made my decision because I felt Jeff was very honest and forthcoming with everything I asked. I would highly recommend doing business with Carefree Boat Sales. Thanks again Jeff!
This was the first boat I've ever bought from a dealership. I have to say the process was phenomenally easy! Jeff and I agreed on a price on the phone before I arrived, all we had to take care of in person was the paperwork. So quick, so painless, arrived on a fair price, and friendly service to top it off. Every car dealership I've ever worked with should take a note from Jeff's playbook. Great work, I would absolutely recommend!
I'm not one to usually write reviews but Jeff at Carefree Boat Sales is the exception! Professional, informative and laid back best describes how Jeff interacts. The boats are just amazing and Jeff knows them inside and out. His support team is phenomenal. Before you buy any Pontoon you owe it to yourself to see and feel the Premier Pontoon difference. They are in a class by themselves and so is Jeff at Carefree Boat Sales!
Purchased a new / used Hurricaine deck boat with a 2021 Suzuki 150 outboard. Needed the warranty for the motor transferred and gave Jeff a call and he did it within a matter of minutes and over the phone. Would not take any money for doing it, but he earned our future business from here forward. Highly recommend, very professional and reasonable. Thanks Jeff and look forward to meeting you.
Jeff knows his product well and is a top notch guy! If you are in the market for a boat or double decker pontoon, feel free to reach out to him or stop by for a visit. You won’t be disappointed, I Highly recommend!

Buying a boat from Carefree Boat Sales - Lake Norman NC in Mooresville, North Carolina? Use this guide to evaluate any listing before you commit.
Match the boat to your waters
Pontoons and deck boats suit calm lakes. Deep-V hulls handle chop on larger lakes and coastal water. Center consoles are versatile for fishing. Ask Carefree Boat Sales - Lake Norman NC which models suit the waterways near Mooresville, North Carolina.
Inspect the hull carefully
Look for stress cracks, blistering, or repairs on fiberglass hulls. Check the transom for soft spots by pressing firmly — a solid transom feels rigid. Osmotic blistering costs thousands to repair.
Check engine hours
Inboard and outboard engines are typically rated to 1,500–3,000 hours. Low-hour engines with service records are worth more. Ask to see oil change and winterization records for any boat at Carefree Boat Sales - Lake Norman NC.
Request a sea trial
Test the boat on the water before buying. Run it at full throttle. Listen for unusual noises. Check that the throttle and steering respond smoothly. Reputable dealers like Carefree Boat Sales - Lake Norman NC will accommodate this request.
Verify title and registration
Ask for the current title and confirm the hull identification number (HIN) matches. Check for any liens with your state boating agency. Carefree Boat Sales - Lake Norman NC should be able to walk you through the paperwork.
