previously reviewed with a 5 star after what I thought was a great experience... Due to being diagnosed with breast cancer and not being able to use the boat we thought they fixed we didnt get it out last year... finally got it on the lake after checking the oil and doing all our research to be responsible owners.... 40 minute ride and the motor is empty AGAIN!!! We took it in to be gone over front to back when we first bought it... the motor seized during the 4th trip on the lake.... partly to our ignorance as new boaters and mainly due to being told the boat was summerized and ready to use. After a long exchange and what I assumed was genuine resolve we were supposed to have a rebuilt engine... only to find that the bolts on the oil pan were all loose and the oil very visibly pumps out of the engine while its running. The new mechanic is sure they "did a backyard rebuild". They did not initially inspect the boat for any issues or safety and they didn't rebuild the motor as agreed. I will never recomend or go back.
I recently bought a used boat (sun runner i/o) from canyon marine. Now buying a used boat, I expected there to be some issues that I would have to work out over time. I was especially disappointed when after 20 minutes of my first run, it started to over heat. I called canyon marine and they asked me to bring it in and they would check it out. Kacey put it in the test tank and sure enough after about 20 minutes the temperature started to climb again. They had me leave it and said they would check it out. They had it in the shop for that day, found and replaced the bad thermostat. And just to be safe, they replaced the impeller and refilled the gear oil for me. All at no cost! I expected at least a couple hundred for labor. This is exactly the kind of business that everyone wants to deal with! Good, honest, knowledgeable people! I will definitely be dealing with them in the future!
