Never buy a boat from this company and surely not this location. Why you may ask well let me tell you my story. It starts near the beginning of June of 2025. I am excited to finally be able to build and purchase an Xpress 185 skiff and see that boaters world is a dealer so I contact them for an ball park estimate with the items I want on the boat and after having 2 different sales people fight over who my representative would be it is finally decided it is Isaac. Once I got a rough quote I went to the dealership to build my boat with Issac. I law out my color options the trolling motor, the shallow water anchor system I want, and the up graded Simrad GPS system. Issac tells me with building the custom build it would take 12-18 weeks to see my boat and goes back to talk to the store manager and sales manager Cliff and comes back with “I have Some great news” we actually have a boat already in the process of being built and it has the same color package and everything you wanted but the sea deck and it will be a 2026 model not a 2025 and we will order the sea deck and put it on the boat for You so it has everything you wanted plus…..since it is already being built I can have it to you in 4-6weeks. Of course I say absolutely since I was planning on my yearly trip to the keys for mini lobster season and the boat would be ready right around then per Issac. So I put down the $5,000 (10%) to secure the boat and wait for it to be ready. Well this is where the whole Experience turned bad. June ends and I ordered a sound system for the boat and speakers and drove them over to them (3 hours) and ask them to install them on the boat when it comes in and I would pay for the labor and Issac says yeah of course no problem and does not me ton any issues about a delay so here comes July and I am waiting on my call any day….nope July comes and goes and I give them some leniency so I wait another 2 weeks after I get back from my trip and no call from them. I finally say screw it I am calling them. I call and ask to speak to Issac and I am told Issac no longer works here so I ask then who is my sales representative now and why was I not told that my sales representative left and I have a new one. They could not provide an answer nor could they even tell me who my sales representative was. I then get a call back from Cliff the sales manager eventually and at this time I am not happy and ask what the hell is going on with my boat as not one person has reached out To me to tell me my sales representative left not to tell me my boat was delayed or anything about it. Cliff advised that he don’t know what was going on and had to call the manufacturer to which he said he would call me back and left me know in a few hours and I got no call all day and I had to call back again the next day and only thing Cliff could tell me it is delayed. When asked how long he said i don’t know and at this time we are 3 weeks past originally promised date. Well as you guess August 2025 comes and goes with no boat then here comes September 2025. Well 3 weeks into September and still no call on my boat so I call them back to get an update and all I can be Provided by Cliff is it is coming I promise. At this point I tell them I no longer want the shallow water anchors on the boat and I can get them cheaper through other avenues I have available to Me. Finally about a week or two later end of September 2025 start of October 2025 I get a call the boat is in. They advise they will need a few days to get all the electrical work done for the new gps, trolling motor, and speakers. Well at this time I ask for the vin # on the boat so I can give it to my finance company to complete my loan and they tell me they will get it right over to me. While I wait all day and I hear absolutely nothing from them again. So I called back the next day and ask again for the VIN number and I also ask how they’re progressing on the boat………. See part 2
I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Boaters World in Bradenton, Florida...... I had them install a new Garmin Kraken trolling motor and Sea Swivel on my 2024 Edgewater 280cx and I couldn't be happier with the results. I inquired about purchase and installation on a thursday requesting if it could be done by that following sunday. I knew this was short notice but i figured it couldn't hurt to ask and not only did they deliver but they had it completely done by 3:30pm Saturday. Chris with service kept in constant contact with me over those few days and you could tell that when it came to customer service he was 100% Genuine!... Chris with parts went out of his way to make sure that all these parts were delivered fast in order to accommodate my requested finish time. Mike that did the installation was absolutely Fantastic! He had my entire boat deck covered in mats, moving blankets, masking tape, you name it in order to protect my boat from damage or scuffs. His installation was absolutely awesome! Top Notch in every aspect and he also explained everything he was doing during the few times i visited during the install. He explained how to operate the trolling motor, had it integrated with my Garmin chart plotter and the boat looked better after the install then when i dropped it off. These guy's ROCK! I wouldn't hesitate a minute in recommending Boaters World to anyone either looking for a boat or getting service and installations done...... Great Job!, Thanks Chris, Chris and Mike!
