Took a 3 hour drive to place a deposit down after talking on the phone with Captain Joe and setting up an appointment with a mobile mechanic within 5 days of a deposit. I was greeted by Tim who told me he's not taking deposits since there is now a lot of interest in the boat I wanted. I offered to put down the full asking price and have a certified mechanic come by in five days. He still told me he wanted someone to buy it as is or find a certified technician within 2 days. Waisted my time and changed their policy. I'm never giving these guys my time again...
This is our 3rd boat and the first we've bought from a dealer, and it was a very positive experience, start to finish! Working with Captain Joe was great as he was very knowledgeable, professional and upfront as he knew a lot about the boat and its history with the previous owner. They have a very good process for getting the boat inspected as we did with our mechanic and surveyed too and they held our boat/deposit through completion of the sale pending satisfactory results of the inspections and a sea trial. It's hard to do this when you're buying private party. Their process protects you the buyer, the owner of the boat and The Boat House as they were selling our boat on consignment. They also offer financing options that was a great help as we got a good rate that we couldn't get on our own as both of our Credit Unions don't lend on used boats. Working with Tim the owner was great too all the way through the process as he has a great team, very professional, upfront and ethical! A great experience and highly recommend them! Happy Fishing!
10/10 would recommend these people if your seriously looking at boats, came into the shop was greeted by the owner Tim to look at a 22 foot defiance and even though there were many people looking at it, the owner seemed to take the time to show everyone the boat fairly. Very open to questions and concerns about the boat. Working on anything financial with them was easy. They helped us figure out how to finance the boat and everything. And they were totally cool once we put a deposit down (which is fully refundable) to have a mechanic come in and test out the motor and do a survey. Still in the process of buying but overall great good and easy to deal with people I would highly recommend if you’re looking to purchase a boat!

We were hesitant about selling our boat with the Boat House of Anaheim only because we had found better price points with other dealers. Tim Jones not only matched these other dealers prices but Tim sold my boat in only a week. Let me repeat myself - Tim beat other dealers prices and he sold my boat in less time than I know the other dealers would've able to do so.
