Everyone we came in contact with was professional and courteous. From the sales team to the finance team, the whole experience has been flawless. This is our first boat purchase, and they really made us feel like part of the AWS family.
The store is well kept in stock Boats and a wonderful atmosphere of employees. It’s close to home and a great Thank you to Owen and Heather for helping us find our new boat :-)
We just purchased our new Barletta Corsa from American Water Sports. We had a great experience with Mario and Caleb and all the crew. They were very helpful, knowledgeable and best of all, no pressure. Our process was completed at our leasure over about 4 weeks. I would do it all over again.
The purchasing experience for my families new XT22 was exceptional. The American Water Sports team was very supportive and caring throughout the entire process. The sales group demonstrated the new boat features and were helpful in answering all of our questions (Will and Logan), working with Heather who negotiated the terms for the new boat as well as provided us with a fair trade in value for our 2003 Maristar 230, Caleb who helped us acquire financing and thoroughly explained the purchase contract documents, and finally Nicole and Athena who diligently worked to answer our questions or forwarded our inquires to the American Water Sports team members who were better suited to answer our questions. We also experienced the excellent service department response (Andy and Lee) because at the end of the first week of ownership, the boat reached 25 hours of operation and thus needed to have the 25-hour service performed. On behalf of my family, we would like to thank the American Water Sports team for its high level of customer service and look forward to many years of making future memories. If you are in the market for a new wakeboard, wake surf or ski boat, we highly recommend reaching out to the American Water Sports team.
Worst experience ever with any vehicle service of any kind. Apart from damaging my pontoon when taking it in for it's first service in 2022, (which they ultimately did fix), they had the audacity to charge me $370.00 for a service call to address a battery connection error they made during last year's service. When I voiced my displeasure and informed them that I would never use their services again it was brushed aside with complete indifference.

Buying a boat from American Water Sports Shell Knob in Shell Knob, Missouri? Use this guide to evaluate any listing before you commit.
Match the boat to your waters
Pontoons and deck boats suit calm lakes. Deep-V hulls handle chop on larger lakes and coastal water. Center consoles are versatile for fishing. Ask American Water Sports Shell Knob which models suit the waterways near Shell Knob, Missouri.
Inspect the hull carefully
Look for stress cracks, blistering, or repairs on fiberglass hulls. Check the transom for soft spots by pressing firmly — a solid transom feels rigid. Osmotic blistering costs thousands to repair.
Check engine hours
Inboard and outboard engines are typically rated to 1,500–3,000 hours. Low-hour engines with service records are worth more. Ask to see oil change and winterization records for any boat at American Water Sports Shell Knob.
Request a sea trial
Test the boat on the water before buying. Run it at full throttle. Listen for unusual noises. Check that the throttle and steering respond smoothly. Reputable dealers like American Water Sports Shell Knob will accommodate this request.
Verify title and registration
Ask for the current title and confirm the hull identification number (HIN) matches. Check for any liens with your state boating agency. American Water Sports Shell Knob should be able to walk you through the paperwork.
