Overview
The 2025 Grady-White Canyon 271 is one of the most respected walkaround boats in the offshore fishing market. At 27 feet with a walkaround cabin design and twin-engine capability, it addresses the practical needs of serious offshore anglers: an enclosed area to shelter from spray, a marine head, and enough performance to safely run 40–50 miles offshore in varying sea conditions.
Walkaround Cabin Design
The walkaround configuration is the Canyon 271's defining feature. The cabin provides a windshield and overhead protection for the helm, a compact forward berth for two, a marine head, and storage—without consuming cockpit fishing space the way a full cuddy cabin would. The walkway around the exterior of the cabin remains clear for accessing bow cleats and fishing the bow area.
Offshore Performance
Twin 150 hp outboards are the recommended configuration, delivering top speeds in the 46–48 mph range and offshore cruise speeds around 35 mph with efficient fuel burn. The SeaV2 hull handles 4–6 foot offshore swells confidently—the Canyon 271 is one of the driest-riding 27-foot walkarounds available.
Fishing Cockpit
The fishing cockpit is purpose-designed: a large insulated fish box, built-in livewell, transom door for landing large fish, rod holder storage throughout, and an optional fighting chair mount. The cockpit layout provides room for three to four anglers to work offshore fishing with minimal interference.
Safety Features
Grady-White's construction incorporates full foam flotation, substantial stainless steel hardware throughout, non-skid deck surfaces, and a structural integrity that far exceeds minimum standards. The Canyon 271 is built to be operated in offshore conditions where boat failure has serious consequences.
Bottom Line
The 2025 Grady-White Canyon 271 is the offshore fishing walkaround for buyers who take their offshore fishing seriously. It's expensive, but it's one of the few 27-foot boats genuinely built to the standard the offshore environment demands.
