Shopping for a vehicle at Roscos Motorcycle & ATV in Rapid City, South Dakota? Follow these steps to buy with confidence.
Pull the vehicle history report
Run a CARFAX or AutoCheck report using the VIN before you visit. Look for accident history, odometer rollbacks, and title brands like salvage or flood. Ask Roscos Motorcycle & ATV if a report is available for any listing.
Take a thorough test drive
Drive on both city streets and the highway. Accelerate hard. Brake firmly. Listen for any clunks, vibrations, or warning lights. Test the AC, heat, and all electronics during the drive.
Inspect for hidden wear
Check for uneven panel gaps, mismatched paint, or overspray — signs of past bodywork. Push on each corner of the car to test the shocks. Look underneath for frame damage, fluid leaks, or rust.
Get a pre-purchase inspection
Have a trusted mechanic inspect any used vehicle before you buy. A $100–$150 PPI can uncover issues that save you thousands. Ask Roscos Motorcycle & ATV if a third-party inspection is permitted.
Negotiate the out-the-door price
Focus on the total out-the-door price, not the monthly payment. Understand every fee on the sales contract before signing. Dealer add-ons like paint protection and VIN etching are negotiable at Roscos Motorcycle & ATV.

I took my UTV there on a recommendation from my friend Bryan Hall and I thought the vehicle might need brakes because it had 3000 miles on it and I had a boot leaking on a CV joint. It’s a Yxz 1000 and I had just minor maintenance stuff that needed to be done and they quoted me you know what I felt was a good price and they called me when the work was completed they had to order the cv boot. It was backorder from Yamaha so they got an aftermarket boot and they said I didn’t need the brakes and so what was expected to be an $800-$1000 repair ended up being about 305 bucks and they even washed off the machine. it was a little dirty. Absolutely awesome company. I’m so impressed. Most places might not have been so honest with me. Thank you for the great service and I appreciate you guys!!!!
So, this spring I bought an amazing Sherco 259 Se from Roscoe’s for my 18 yr old son. Sunday, in the woods g’ar, we cracked the crank casing on a granite ledge. Stopped into drop it off during Sturgis Rally to order a new part and have it fixed. Ross not only had the part I. Stock, but swapped it out while I got a coffee swing the street! While waiting, I chatted with Harley riders getting motors, tires fixed as they waited. PRO shop that services RIDERS! Would give them 11 stars, but not an option.
I can't say enough about how amazing this place is. They went above and beyond for me after Sturgis to ensure I got home. Staff is amazing. Mechanics are top tier. I am beyond grateful and cannot say enough about this place.
Really a great place, very friendly and grade A+ work. I had work done here about 6 months ago. We set out from MN on a week long trip that covered 3,200mi in summer of 2017. We had 2 motorcycles and one car (2001 SV650s, 2013 ninja 1000, 2016 miata). On the first night after spending 8 hours crossing ND we noticed the chain on my SV650s was stretching noticeably. Hindsight says at over 20K miles on the bike it was due for change prior to the trip but that's hindsight for yah. We crossed through the black hills, down to Salt lake city where we called around for a shop to replace the chain with no luck. Then we drove through Yellowstone, and camped in the Big Horn Mountains. After 2000+mi on a chain that was stretching more day by day. It had gone through 3 states and was starting to effect highway cruising it was REALLY bad. I believe we contacted Rosco's sometime when we were in Idaho and he agreed to replace the chain within a quick time period. When we finally arrived in Rapid City and dropped the bike off we were given a couple hours to replace the chain. So we grabbed a bite at a local bar and sure enough the bike had a new chain with barely any interference with our trip. On top of being a super friendly shop and very reasonable prices! I'll be using the same bike to make another trip in 2018, but east this time!
If you're in the market for a bike try Rosco's first . They are, hands down the best people I've ever dealt with in my 40 years of riding.
