Ultimately, I did not buy a car here. I have a problem-laden 2024 Cadillac. I was trying to get rid of the Cadillac and Don Jordan at Genesis gave me lots of advice and tried to find a reasonable way to get me into a G80. He went above and beyond. I would definitely recommend this dealership and Don! * * * U P D A T E * * * At the end of February 2025, we ultimately acquired an electric G80 from Genesis of Milwaukee after Cadillac repurchased our Lyriq under Lemon Laws. Genesis of Milwaukee went through a lot of effort to find a car we liked and got one from a dealer in Minnesota. I appreciate that. The rest of the process was less than ideal. Our salesperson normally works at the Kia dealership next door. She seemed to have no filter or understanding of the customer experience. For example, when we told her that we lived in Milwaukee, she said “I would never live there.” Throughout the process she would disappear for extended periods of time. Most times we didn’t know why, but once was to move her car, another time was to look for all-weather floor mats (more on this later), and another was when we were waiting for her to take our down payment and someone said she was chatting in the back room. The entire process took hours. When we took delivery of the car, it was not clean. They had someone drive the car to the dealership from Minnesota. Once we got it home, we found a bunch of junk in the center armrest. The dealership is very concerned about how you answer follow-up surveys sent to the customer. Upon wrapping everything up, they said they would give us the all-weather floor mats mentioned above if we would respond to the follow-up survey with the answers they provided (they wanted the best ratings on every question, regardless of your actual experience). The follow-up survey was a JD Power survey. The floor mats that the salesperson spent so long finding and putting in our car were for the non-electric G80 and did not fit our car. The salesperson jammed them into our car anyway. Subsequently, we removed them and took them back to the dealership. They told us that the correct mats were on back order and they would get us a set of WeatherTech mats instead. We have yet to receive those, although we have been promised they are still on the way. (UPDATE: the dealer finally sent us a check at the end of April so we could buy our own WeatherTech mats.) Shortly after taking delivery, the dealer contacted us and said they should have completed a software update before delivering the car, so we had to drive back to the dealership to get this completed. Finally, we have been unable to completely set up Connected Services on the car. Connected Services gives you additional functionality in the car. As of the beginning of April, neither the dealership nor Hyundai/Genesis have been able to correct this issue. They have told me numerous time they can see it is an issue on their end, but have yet to find a solution. Although, overall, I like the car, the purchase and delivery experience wasn’t great. Ownership hasn’t fully lived up to my expectations. I have found that common luxury car features like doors locking when you walk away and phone as key are not available for Apple users (Android only). This is disappointing since I made it clear to the salesperson how important Apple integration was to me.
We live 90 minutes away from this dealership, but it was worth the drive to buy our GV80. Our salesperson, Maria, made the whole experience incredibly easy and enjoyable. I didn’t know what I wanted so I drove a bunch of cars. Maria got the cars ready and answered all of my questions. When I finally decided on the model, the dealership made me a great offer for my trade and the price of the car. No high pressure tactics or shady dealer add ons. The dealership itself is stunningly beautiful with high end touches everywhere and an environment that feels luxurious and premium. I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone looking to buy a fantastic car.
